Since there is no officially recognized Palestinian state, with Israel controlling all of it's resources, that makes Israel liable and responsible for the well being and safety of the Palestinians. So your framing is in the context that Palestinian's are already independent and just need to be recognized as if the West Bank isn't being Cannibalized and Gaza being blockaded and sieged. So it's not that they want to be Israeli no, it's that under the current occupation and international law, they do not have the same rights as Israelis. They cannot buy land, they only gave out what "20,000 work visas" in comparison to the 2.3 million that live in Gaza. They have no port, no airport, no trade because Israel will not allow it and everything is filtered through Israel. Their taxes, their goods, their food, their water, their electricity, their fuel, their very blood for hospitals to keep people alive. Netanyahu said himself that he had them on a calorie count. That is insane. Imagine if the governor of a state in the US put a county of black people on a calorie count, that would be the end of his career. So no one is complaining they're not Israeli. Everyone is complaining the Palestinians are being stomped on and killed over some short sighted vision of some greater Israel.
