Why? The prof did Piers's work for him. All the host had to do was sit back and let his guest lay out for the audience how biased and illogical the prof is. Piers didn't have to grill the prof; the prof grilled himself. This man did not provide factual representation for the claims he made, but he did try to act like Piers had none. Pure gas lightning. The prof couldn't have looked more like a blind follower. An honest observer would call out wrongs on all sides of a story.
