one of the most beautiful songs i´ve ever heard..libertines were great exactly for this..they could do so different songs like this one vs. horrorshow..but all of them are so amazing.unbelievable.each carries their spirit. good video as well.thx.

The line "And you see i brought you flowers, all collected from the old vic stage" is one of the most beautiful lines in music.

Love the voice of Pete in this song, though it breaks my heart... There are no words to define this song, perfect... PETER DOHERTY IS THE GREATEST POET OF MY GENERATION!!!
@SlowDown10116 жыл бұрын
This song reminds me of my best friend and I. I well we haven't talked for a while b/c of a falling out. It sucks I miss him and feel that the Barat and Doherty situation is like my best friend and mine's situation. This also reminds me of the best girlfriend I've ever had I miss her too. The 2 people in my past I wish I could have back. Oh well at least I have this song. Bless you both Angie W. and Nick H. Thanks to Doherty and Barat for writing this song.

I know this was 15 years ago, but I'm having the same thing now. We were so close we wrote love poems about eachother and called ourselves soulmates. Now we've drifted away from eachother. We were going to write stories together, we were supposed to be best friends forever. Now we can't be in a room together without shouting at eachother. It's awful. The only time we get along is when we're listening to the Libertines together, but even then it's bittersweet

this song was written by peter for carl. barat collects/collected knives, smokes a lot, didnt had a home because as a child he lived with his mother in a commune and his favourite station is called Waterloo. also after the libertines when carl was in a hospital peter dedicated this song to him.

+Alex Toma Yea, you think so? I really do like how Pete's voice sounds in the early version
@hannah60344 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s so much better. It’s actually remarkable how good it is to look at it another way . So good, so early on - this was recorded before they were signed or anything. Making it sadder still that they just didn’t do a good job with the eventual album version. Slowing it down was a mistake. It’s so melodramatic. Focusing so much on Petes vocal was a mistake. It didnt have to be - a ‘for lovers’ style performance was needed but his voice isn’t up to it anymore . On that day at least. but even with a strong vocal, the tempo is wrong wrong wrong. It’s melodramatic and sounds ike they’re trying too hard. This one is effortlessly beautiful.

This is one of the most wonderful Libertines Songs.. To me it seems as if this song reflects Peter and Carlos' realtionship. They were so cute together, really. I don't like what Carlos is saying about the Libertines.. They weren't training. =( Anyway. Wonderful video and an even better song. Great!
