It’s taken my husband and I three years to be able to get our small vegetable garden producing. We don’t have much land just a small suburban yard in Australia and we dug up the lawn and converted it to garden beds. It’s been a learning curve and a half. The biggest thing I’ve learned about gardening is that you don’t just plant in the spring. You plant throughout the year. I planted carrots back in September for harvest through the winter and I’ve had carrots all year for the past two years. Plant several successions of potatoes. Spring, mid summer and fall depending on how mild your winter is. Midwest zone 5b/6a.

You plant what grows in every season. I'm in Florida and garden year round plants best suited to each season. Winter is tough for you, summer is tough for me but there is always something to grow.
@Autobotsunited3 жыл бұрын
@@tallak9829 it’s not as bad as you’d think. I’m in 6a and I had a whole huge patch of lettuce sprout in December, multiple days of snow sitting on it, completely fine! Had tons of lettuce into early summer when it started to bolt. Plenty of leafy greens will do just find and you can keep roots in the ground with a little protection.

Lots of 2 bucket videos out there. If you're close to a river it'll filter it (run it through a few times) and boil afterwards to be safe. Hope this helps, it kept me alive last year. There is also a good test for sewing I would highly suggest and watch some videos to see how it works. Great to know before it's needed. Love the gardening things! Got a lot of seeds set aside and saved from other plants we have. Ideally if you can start planting in winter if you have the room in side or in the garage. It helps get a big start on things such as Tomatos.

The only reason you guys believe in the christian god is because we in britain brought Christianity over to you during colonisation. If you were born in Islamabad you’d be Sunni. It just depends where in the world you are born. Is a Sunni in Islamabad - every bit as fanatical as you - wrong and you are right? Think about these things in a bigger global scale. Also, the lower the IQ, the higher the religiosity. Think about that. It’s not a coincidence that there are very few academics that are religious. Not much here, SAM splints Tourniquets Quick Clot Antihistamines and anti-inflammatories (yes, there is a liability when adding these) Maybe a small plastic tablecloth. Maybe a magnifying glass and some fine tip tweezers for splinters I think what I like the most here, is it has a booboo kit. The small bandages, disinfectants. Like you said, the everyday stuff. I'm not a religious person so perhaps this comment won't relate to many here, but i do think it is true that the world is becoming more polarised by the greed of the insanely rich. So your suggestions of becoming more self sufficient and well educated medically is a great thing to hear. The billionaires that thrive on our complacency of buying thier products wouldn't be able to keep dividing us in the way we are now. A community where we can help eachother out, trade skills and our own produce between eachother would be a much healthier and happier way of life, even if it meant we had to put more hard work in to achieve it. All the best in the next year with your projects🙌

I've retired from 2 careers, police work and as a Registered Nurse. That is a fine first aid kit and well worth the money. One reason a non medical person might need a kit like this is you might have someone with medical/nursing experience on hand who could use those things. I'd add a few bottles of contact lens saline (NOT cleaner, just saline) to irrigate wounds, things in the eye, etc. Throw in some Benadryl and maybe an EpiPen or just a few syringes and some epinephrine, some Tylenol (I'd ONLY use it for fevers, it's useless for pain, IMHO), Imodium and some naprosin/ibuprofen, and youd have a really nice kit. Maybe some Gatorade powder or Pedialyte for electrolytes.

I clicked the link you shared with us, and bought this bucket with all the options before the video even hit 8 minutes. As a woodworker with several power tools, there is absolutely no excuse for not having a decent first aid kit in the shop, and this one is hands down the most complete kit I have ever found, and it's at a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing.

Gardening. The time is now. I’ve seen whats on the horizon and I‘ve spent the last five years growing food and saving seeds. Seeds are real-life everlasting gobstoppers. You NEED to grow heirloom varieties (NOT HYBRIDS) in order to save your seeds. Start now stocking up on every kind of heirloom seed you can find. When you plant for survival, forget about the grains (you should have a years supply of grain anyways). Believe me, on the small scale it is so difficult to make one loaf of bread its insane. What you want is root crops and squash. Sweet potatoes, potatoes, carrots, sugar beets and all different kinds of prolific squash varieties - these will mean survival. Another thing absolutely essential is chickens. Chickens will take your kitchen waste and garden bugs and turn them back into food. Its miraculous really. And they’re so easy to care for. Root crops, squash and chickens are great to get you going. Also, don’t forget to work out your water situation. Without water, you’re screwed. And don’t think you can rely on city water! Get a well dug, figure out a way to harvest rainwater….do it now, don’t wait!

Love it Cody! Excited to see a wranglerstar series on growing food. I have been working on building my farm for the past decade. Our farm started to commercially operate in 2020 when Covid broke out, I will tell you and the rest of the world that it is a huge comfort to have the ability to grow and harvest your own food. An extremely important skill set to own.

Hey Cody, How about this fall doing a hunting/harvesting series. How to hunt then how the gut, prep, butcher and package? I'm sure a lot of us who follow you know but I'd bet there are a few who don't.

Take note of what this man is saying, I am in South Africa and we have already experienced what may come to the US and many other countries, one-party political dominance leads to incompetence and corruption at every level of government, water and power outages due to lack of maintenance and misspent budgets, massive increases in crime and violence caused by apathetic and incompetent police etc etc. I know the US is not Africa but there are many lessons to be learned from here, we need to let go of the belief that a governments have our best interests at heart, we are governed by self serving people who will follow any order they're given. 1. Understand firearms, even if you cannot legally own one. You need to be able to pick up a discarded firearm, load it and fire it. 2. Medical/First aid, take a stop the bleed/first-aid course and buy/build some kits to keep in your home and vehicles. 3. Live outside the city and keep a reservoir of basic food and other supplies. 4. Health/fitness, stop eating trash and improve your strength, can you carry your wife 100 yards without having a stroke? can you lift a beam off your child? 5. Responsibility, don't outsource your family's safety, security and health to strangers who do not care about you, build a circle of like minded people with skill that complement your own. please search for videos on the riots and looting we experienced here in SA mid 2021, several cities were looted and thousands of business burned, our police and military showed up after to harass armed civilians who protected their neighbourhoods. The material possessions and social status we enslave ourselves to achieve mean nothing when the mob arrives at your door to claim what the politicians promised them.

Its very true that the gardening is a learning process. I began in 2020 spring with hydroponics thinking I could still grow in the winter. Much $$$ and months yielded very little. I invested more $$$ this past spring doing container gardening and covered my entire deck with plants. I yielded a few tomatos, beans and cucumbers. Lots of herbs. This fall, I have 3 pea pods. Many things did not even come up. Still, not enough to survive on for a famiily. You were correct in that not only do you have to deal with a myriad of pests but weather. I am feeling so discouraged, especially knowing that whatever does come up will most likely be looted. Not everyone can afford a bug out location or the many expensive prep items on all the you tube stations..... We will be depending on the Lord to care for us.

If you’re going to use sutures, you will need a pair of needle holders. Get one with gold handles and carbide tips. It would be extremely difficult to place sutured with a little mosquito forceps in that kit, especially if those sutures have a taper needle. You might be able to get a bottle of lidocaine to numb wounds but that would be tough to find.
