Sorry for arguing semantics, but a stage manager is the person who manages technical aspects, like lighting, of a stage play. The guy you're referring to is the floor director, a role in live or live-to-tape TV who communicates directly with the talent, usually conveying timing and other important information at the behest of the director. Source- I'm a floor director. And yeah, that guy is doing basically exactly what I would do in that situation. Roll with the punches, just keep the show going smoothly. Really, the only issue here is that the FD counted, out loud, the seconds preceding the show start, rather than using the hand signals. Though I do understand why that was done, for the sake of this show's writing and camera angles.

Oh Yeah, Ron loves teaching people, especially to be self sufficient, how to do things for themselves. And he appreciates people who want to learn. Slightly in paying for Andy's college, but even more so in showing Ann how to do repairs around the house after she said she was a homeowner and should know how to fix things herself. And was taken with Dianne when she asked Ron to explain to her what he was doing to fix the pothole in case she needed to do it herself next time.

I've tried Ron's method of avoiding hangovers on several occasions, and it works surprisingly well. Not completely successful, but still pretty good. Two other things I've added to make my method work 100%... 1) In addition to flank steak cooked in butter and putting on a pair of wet socks, make sure to also chug a ton of water (Gatorade is even better) right before going to bed...as much as you can handle without throwing up. Doing that will force you to get up to pee in the middle of the night. When you're up to pee, chug even more water/Gatorade before going back to bed. That double dose of extra hydration goes a LONG way 2) If you're still a little hungover in the morning, force yourself to run a 5K. You'll sweat out whatever sugar/booze is still in your system.

Agree. Some years ago it was pointed out to me that drinking alcohol is akin to drinking sea water. Your own body becomes dehydrated when the alcohol passes through your system. The headache/hangover is a result of that. So, in order to avoid a hangover, you must remain hydrated. I suggest having a tall glass of water before going drinking and for every beer or alcoholic beverage, you have an equal amount of water. If you’re still sensible afterwards, have another drink of water before hitting the sack and every time you relieve yourself. Since doing this, I’ve never experienced another hangover.
