This was my husband’s song to me,he was a big weller fan,it was one of his favourites,he passed away last year very suddenly but this song brings me back good memories,after 40 years together it takes me back to a special place in time ❤️

This was my brother and his wife’s song I sent him this version sometime this year and he loved this version sadly he lost his fight against cancer the end of June,it makes me really sad but I still play it usually on a Saturday night after a few beers ❤ our mark was the best brother you could wish for and I miss him sleep tight bro .

Voices age and deepen and grow with life experience. Paul Weller, who never had a particularly smooth voice, doesn't sound so different but Boy George, who sounded like Smokey Robinson as a younger man, has developed a wonderfully soulful timbre.

@Paul Weller I have been a fan of Paul Weller since about early '80 s. My brother introduced me 2 The Jam. We used 2 play them really loud....to annoy our father. 😎. I think Paul Weller is the best singer/songwriter of my time. All of the bands and his solo career, he just smashed it.

It’s not actually true, I’ve seen Paul live 15 times and he has sung it live at least twice when I’ve seen him, I think Paul slipped up and actually meant to say that he wrote it in 1984

There sadly wasn't an audience (although one was planned) due to Covid. Restrictions meant that they could get the orchestra, sound guys amd cameras in but that was it so it became the intimate performance you see here.
