I'll never forget the Kool Jazz Festival in Dallas, Texas with the Isley's, Earth Wind and Fire, Lakeside, SOS Band, Denise Williams, and a couple more. The 2nd concert I'd ever been to. It was turned over and out. My 35 year old son and 24 year old daughter is so off into the 70's and 80's music and I've got it all. We'd clean the house every Saturday with this music playing, now I ride in the car with my son and guess who he plays? Right on!!

Not commercial enough for many AND some people look at the length of the song and baulk at it thinking it's too long or boring. Sadly the short attention span of many these days may also reflect their attitude to love making. Which is where this type of sweet soul can lead to if you're lucky.

The harmonies were tight and musicianship and arrangements by Chris Jasper, Ernie & Marvin was perfect. These two songs are up there for me. And I was born in 80 this is why this music is timeless.

This song brings back so so so so many memories for me especially now that I’ve 😢lost my son. He was killed while sleeping 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢. His birthday is Friday coming up. I’m sitting here listening to it in my car crying cause I listen to my music 🎼 loud and it’s still very early. 😆. Don’t want to get evicted 😮. His name is Erik B Hudson Jr. He would’ve been 33 August 9,2024. I miss him everyday dam day. I love all the wonderful memories of him. I pray to the debt that he went to heaven cause I need to see him. I need to hug my son 😢😢. He’s the KEY TO MY HEART 💜 MOST OF HES BESIDE ME HES FOREVER IN HEART ❤️. I LOVE YOU BOI!!!! MA miss you something like really terrible 😢 😢

Indeed it was. This album was very much underated and unappreciated. Nothin but good music and good memories for me. One of my all time fav's of the Isleys. They hold the key to many Love songs.

This song brought me back to life after shutting off my feelings for what seemed like for ever. It came to me with a forbidden woman who could be me for a way too short amount of time. She brought colors and beauty to man who has shut down and almost forgot how beautiful life could be. This song immediately takes me to those glorious and amazingly beautiful brief moments when I truly was alive. Though long separated most of all you stay in my mind.

For those are wondering, who is singing? It is primarily lead singer and third-oldest brother Ronald "Ron/Ronnie" Isley and the oldest brother O'Kelly "Kelly" Isley, Jr. that are singing lead in the song. Ronnie sings lead on You're The Key to My Heart, but Kelly sings lead on You're Beside Me. Although Kelly is the main one singing lead on You're Beside Me, Ronnie sings the co-lead vocals with him during the second verse. Meanwhile, second-oldest brother Rudolph "Rudy" Isley is a background singer in both songs, but he also can be heard singing "Hey, hey, baby" at 8:24. I believe that the musicians keyboardist brother-in-law Christopher "Chris" Jasper, drummer and guitarist second-youngest brother Ernest "Ernie" Isley, and bassist and percussionist youngest brother Marvin Isley are also the providing background vocals for You're Beside Me.

You're welcome, ma'am. This is a very great album from the Isley Brothers, and these are great songs sung and performed by a group of five brothers and their brother-in-law. 😊😊😊😊😊

Thanks very much for that. I always, and only thought the Ron led all of their songs. Kelly sounds almost exactly like Ron. I wonder what other songs Kelly might have led that I thought was Ron???

The Fame Cameran Show it's hard to distinguish who is who. They all sound like twin brothers to me although it's four brothers. Well, make that six.
@themysterytale9717 жыл бұрын
not at all ! it's ronnie who sings both songs. Chris/Marvin and o kelly with ronnie made the harmonies. Probably Ron himself is doing his own harmonies. ButI can hear Chris singing " oh baby" in the " everywhere i go section". Believe me i'm a musician and i can spot them.
