Season five will chronicle the aftermath of last season’s horrific events and find the characters coming to terms with the consequences of their choices - as they make the realization that if they really want to change their futures, they must first face the past. Helen (Tierney) begins the season involved in an intoxicating new affair with a charismatic movie star (guest star Claes Bang), who offers to give her everything she’s been missing. Noah (West) meanwhile has to swallow his pride and his jealousy and step in to take care of his family in her absence. But just when things seem to have stabilized, a chance encounter with someone from the distant past sets in a motion a sequence of events that brings them both to their knees. Paquin stars as Alison and Cole’s now adult daughter Joanie Lockhart, who returns some years in the future to piece together the truth about what happened to her mother, bringing the whole story full circle.

this scene is sad and kind of shows that Helen is stupid, senseless and can't think for herself. She could've spared one night to meet with Priya but she chose to stay at the party instead. Sasha has tons of parties but the way she discarded Vik's mum was painful and not deserved. Get it together, Helen

@@SH-to8sh Vik's mom has been horrible and passive aggressive to Helen ever since she and Vik moved into together basically as couple that likely would have gotten married if he didn't get the cancer. She probably tried to get Vik to have an arranged marriage with someone of the same race as them on more than one occasion and he wasn't interested and just fully invested himself into his career where he ended up becoming Chief Surgeon of some major LA Children's Hospital in his late 40s I think which is very young for someone in that field to accomplish. Beautiful women like Sierra probably have been throwing themselves at Vik his entire life because of his looks, his career success and his money (especially since he is self-made) even his mother says he left a LEGACY but he was attracted to Helen because she didn't need to be with him for any of that she was rich herself and add to that she had the one thing he lacked a family and a large one at that with four kids who were kind of in the age where you communicate with them as actual people as oppose to toddlers you have to supervise and clean up after.

@@SH-to8sh Viks mother has been passive aggressive and extremely cold towards Helen since she knew that Vik loved Helen for who she is. Just another cringe 😬 mother in law situation. No matter who her son loves she could never be good enough. I wouldn’t be surprised they didn’t like the doctor until after he’s been with Helen. No she didn’t have to do anything for her. She was not married to him and her sob story about her family not Helen’s problem. She just didn’t want to give her son a bad reputation. Fucking the young neighbour . If Helen goes with her and Eddie looks good for her . She is preaching about being selfless??? Take a look in the mirror. Viks mother was only concerned about herself and how it looks on her .

@@tabithamuthusi7322 Whiteny has been broken long before Noah had an Affair. She was an entitled scumbag who assumed she was going to inherit the same money her mother was going to inherit from her wealthy grandparents. She also refused to go to college despite having no reasonable plans to begin with for her future and now she seems to have finally grown up by being in a relationship with some attractive mooch who clearly wants to use her for marriage so he can get a Green Card.

I'm confused this lady is whining at Helen when she is the one asking her to lie and pretend to be the mother of Sierra's baby lol. When I saw part of this scene in the trailer after last week's episode I thought she was yelling at Helen because Sierra got in a car accident with the baby that is both Vik's son and her grandson and was seriously injured or worse killed. Also why doesn't Sierra ask Eddy's grandma to babysit him instead of begging Helen or locking the kid in the car with the window open like he is a dog or worse taking him for a drive while she is high on cocaine?

@@SH-to8sh lol her attractiveness more than compensates for annoyance and immaturity. The writers probably pissed a lot of women off by letting the actress who just had a baby that I think is almost 4 months old look hot enough she can land a role on some hot shot director's movie. Yes Sierra snorted lines and fucked him in the bathroom but she is still hot why else did Vik give into her overtures so fast? Also I think she has money problems in terms of paying her bills she mentioned that to of all people her baby Eddy while they were driving. Sierra's mother let the cat out of the bag that the beachfront property she lives in actually belonged to her father who gave it to her mother in some difficult divorce settlement and Sierra likely lives there rent free. However, I'm guessing she still has to make a living to feed herself and the kid, pay for a cellphone, utility bills, property taxes and what not which clearly requires an income from her acting. Apparently Helen has the same problem with her father giving away what would have been the rest of her inheritance to con artists and charities. He had no competence of understanding what he had done because of his Alzheimer's. And Noah told Helen's father that the house they live in is Vik's so I'm guessing he left that to her instead of his parents. Helen is making a living using Sasha's connections to land interior decorating and design gigs from rich people which probably pays very well. The writers have left some key details unaddressed so far to start this season.

Sasha is turning Helen. He is showing Helen that family is not that important, that she is being used which I don't think it's true. Helen has always been a person who supported her family no matter what, even when Noah cheated and abandoned them, she was there, she was the strongest on. Vik's mom can be overbearing but she needed that favor from Helen. After Sasha' s party Helen realized that maybe Sasha is a different person he was so cold when he turned down the veteran director considering they had a commitment. Maybe Sasha is not the kind person he portrayed in the first and maybe Helen has changed too, She was the person who was always there for everyone.

Helen has been in love with Noah throughout the show she didn't realize she finally moved on till Vik the only other man she has ever been in a serious relationship with passed away. Vik and her were more like friends with benefits than a couple for most of their relationship till he found out he had cancer and regretted never having children of his own then Helen realized she actually loved him because she didn't want him to give up on life and leave her. Helen even tried to have Vik's baby in her 50s. Helen also moved on pretty fast from being shocked and upset after finding out Vik got Sierra pregnant and became a total mess after Vik died. Now she is taking Vik's final words in that video message he left her to heart and taking care of herself and enjoying her own life because she has spent too much of it already taking care of others and keeping them happy specifically her parents, Noah, her kids and Vik till his last days. Now Helen is living for Helen and coincidentally dating an A-list movie star who portrays her ex-husband in a movie about her life and divorce. Helen is so committed to gaining control of her life again she rejected Noah this time when he pleaded with her for another chance for them to work things out and be a family again.

Lmfao Vik's mother makes Helen's mother Margaret look like a Saint. Margaret despite her witchcraft rivaling personality at least takes care of her grandkids so Helen and to a lesser extent her ex-son in law Noah can hold on to careers and have lives outside of just being responsible for their children. All Vik's mother does is complain to Helen even after Vik is dead. I wonder if she disowned her grandson Eddy because he was born out of wedlock in an inter-racial relationship based off a one night affair lol .

She wouldn't have disowned the baby knowing how desperate she is for her brother to see him but she's too ashamed to reveal he was born of wedlock after having being disowned by her family for marrying outside religious boundaries. I understand Priya's pain and frustration with her past and trying to reconcile it but it's kind of unfair to take it out on Helen when Vik's the one who got a younger woman pregnant just because Helen wasn't up for the task. Helen may be a very self-involved misguided socialite now but she doesn't have to be responsible for other people's mistakes and have to cover up those mistakes to make someone happy. She wasn't very happy at that party so maybe she should have helped Priya out but she wouldn't have felt any better.

@@MrCodyhoskins I see Priya as a very bitter, hard hearted one. She claims to dislike it that her son is with someone not of her race. Being so cruel to Helen. She is doing the same thing to Helen that was done to her for marrying a Muslim. Discrimination is discrimination whether it's about race or religion or handicaps or age or gender. It can only cause pain, premature grey hair & extra wrinkles. My father was Native American, my mom was of European descent. They moved the family far from where they were, to start over & escape the stares & prejudice because he was NA, married to a Caucasian woman. It really hurts to see how hard-hearted Priya is. Reminds me of the struggles my parents dealt with.

lol being rich is not a breeze if the things money buys you don't make you happy. Helen has been bouncing back from misery this whole show from learning her husband who was the love of her life cheated on her despite having raised four kids together, lol he fucked their mistress in her house on their marital bed and left her bra, then Helen crashed her van while driving drunk with two of her kids and then killed Scotty Lockart while driving drunk and let Noah go to jail for it. Then when she wanted to reconcile with Noah after he got out of prison he rejected her. Then she got serious with Vik who ended up dying of Cancer and now she is in some love triangle where Noah wants her back while she is banging Sasha who she has yet to really know all about. Oh yeah she had one daughter in Whitney who is a head case who went from getting pregnant as a minor to apparently getting involved with some old ass abusive artist to now being engaged to some guy who might be using her for a Green Card. Her second son Martin is another basket of problems to handle be it his serious health issues that led to Vik operating on him or the fact he almost dropped out of school more than once especially after he found out his father cheated on her and then later murdered someone. Then you got Trevor who is gay or maybe transgender who was denying his sexuality for a good chunk of the show till he bonded with Vik who was kind of both a stepfather and mentor to him till he died. And then the youngest Stacy who was involved in Helen's first DUI is being raised among all this chaos and also going through puberty herself. Helen's whole life is chaotic and even with money for most of the show taking care of her high standard of living she has been so miserable to this point similar women in her circumstances might have committed suicide or overdosed on pills and booze like she is prone to be doing already. She fell asleep on the freeway while driving. Also don't forget her father apparently blew whatever was left of her inheritance she was eventually suppose to get so now she is working to pay the bills for Vik's California home she inherited and soon Whitney's wedding. I also think she shares tuition expenses with Noah to send Martin to college and the two younger kids likely to some preppy arts school.
