As someone else who has programmed CNC machines (lathes, mills, and 3d printers), there's a lot of factors at play, like tooling, material, and the correct speeds/feeds/temperatures/coolants that need to be applied as a result.

So the one Ethan was confused about them "painting the floor", that was Auto-leveler, you mix a powder with some water and get this bucket of watery looking mud that levels the floor over the course of around 12-24 hours. It is indeed a part of redoing the floor to make sure its level! (just thought some other people would be curious and want to know) :)

Over the summer, I had a pool cleaning job where we’d drain the pool and just do a deep clean with pressure washers and acid mixtures. It was so satisfying! I got to use one of the circular ones a lot and it was so fun. The only downside to pressure washing in a drained pool is that you get drenched from all the mist and water spraying right back at you.
