The last guy to give up in the arena was mad that you weren't playing his game. It's a common theme with duelist types. they don't understand that a duel involves spacing and timing your openings to win especially against hyper armor abusers. And they'll never learn because most people just trade into them and lose.

Miyazaki hates invaders, can’t convince me otherwise. That emergency patch shows how they can patch randoms things no one cared about but a whole community ask for 6 player limits and balance damage for 2 years and they said “huh?” PvP community doesn’t even ask for new assets just to change their damn numbers and see what happens they can always go back to previous patches if it doesn’t work but they don’t try. They refuse to update and fix taunters tongue because 3 man bully feast with instant and infinite blues to take any progress made in a gank is an intended feature.

Maybe they wanted to make invasions just as difficult for pvp people as it is for casual players struggling with base game. To casual players, invasions have always been a very distinct difficulty that new casual could ever hope to survive the way they dish out

Invasions are just no longer the realm of the mele player. If you watch streamers like cadmanson, or DCCLXII you would understand that caster true combos are much more diabolical in an instant to groups than trying to roll catch everybody one by one, or use an AOW. You have to be prepared to nuke the entire arena to survive the gankers nowadays, and you're acting like the tools aren't there

Mele builds are just heavily outranged because of stupid tracking spells dropping the frame rate and causing inputs not to trigger. Which side of the equation would you rather be on? While i primarily invade and ive used zwei to beat every souls game exclusively, spells open the door for the mele weapon to absolutely have a "play" even when outnumbered in a small space

I wish UGS still had the cr1 speed it had on release but less HA startup frames and the tracking of serpent hunter in patch 1.10, making it so you need to free aim for inward and sideways rolls.

waves of darkness is very interesting, if the person has under a certain amount of poise it wont combo, but if their poise is high enough it will be a 4 hit true combo, usually insta killing them

Overrated shield tbh, it was viable alongside carian parry when it could one shot mages but now is not, you can spam its parry at the same speed a mage spams spells so you eat chip damage constantly not to mention the huge amount of multi-projectile spells in the game countering it

it does straight up stupid damage on a pure int build, slap that on a magic zwei and and you will get guaranteed double and triple kills on aggressive ganks. the damage scaling is the highest on a magic infusion, then cold, then heavy, and least of all with the rest of the possible infusions.

Frostbite increases physical damage taken as well as the proc damage so paired with ugs it’s better than bleed.

It's a great weapons for invasions because of its damage and insane HA,but it falls off hard against good players that will reaction roll it's crouch attack,which is actualy pretty slow.

seconding that, ugs in general in elden ring have basically only the crouch poke going for them with the exception of the gsg/fkg having the alternate r1s. obobobo ran the meteoric ore greatsword in the elden ring twitch rivals and took it basically to the semifinals in the 1v1 bracket, but that's because everyone else he played against were not super invested in the pvp at all, and he basically lost to 300 ping with a strictly better weapon (halberd+poison handaxe)
