Ok, Im 2/3 into the game so I can give some impressions. I like it but I'm not in love :) It is very atmospheric and I'm enjoying the traversal but at the same time I feel like there's no point in doing anything apart from the main story. All the supply runs are the same, whether they're part of the main or side missions. They just give me XP, nothing more. Also, I see no point in building anything, like roads or ziplines, because they just spoil the fun. Driving on roads is super boring, so I never use them. It's much more fun to face the obstacles. And the AI is just horrible. The bandits pose no threat at all - I was punching whole camps unconscious from the very beginning or outrunning groups of enemies like in a slapstick comedy. The BTs are more engaging but it's also more fun to sneak (or dash) past them than use the equipment you get, because it makes life too easy. I liked the first BT boss fight but the second one was no challenge at all. It's an interesting and original game for sure but I don't see myself playing it longer than necessary to complete the story.

@@Robert-zc5be You're missing the message of the game. You're being selfish and only helping yourself. The gameplay is surrounded by the community. You don't build to help yourself. You build to ease the suffering of everyone else. That's why there is side missions. It rewards you with even better gear. You also aren't seeking out the best parts of the game. Which is the unknown. Different BT variants, going lethal and much more. Rebuild America. Make friends along the way and help us reconnect with the world. That is the beauty of death stranding. Remember, It's kojima. His games aren't just games. Also, play on harder difficulties where's youll find areas covered with many more bts, permanent timefall and boss fights that contain up to 3 bosses in it.

this game took about 12-16 hours in and 3 separate fresh starts to finally hook me. It's in my top 5 games of all time now after putting 170 some odd hours into it.The story is incredible yet cringe at times (I still love it especially the big big reveal at the end). The gameplay and mechanics are addicting, relaxing, and tense all at once. The endless possibilities of traversing the Icelandic countryside (I mean "America") was so much goddamn fun, literally preparing for every mission/delivery/situation kept me going. The biggest aspect of this game hooking me was the parallels to reality; ya see I've been a bike messenger on and off for give or take 15 years and when the pandemic hit it was truly a surreal experience. This game's setting/mood/story/lore/etc reminded me of the loneliness of delivering packages to rich assholes in a major US city on a bike. Every single time I play this game I get goosebumps remembering the surreal experience of working during the pandemic and its so hard to explain that situation let alone recommending this game to other people lmao. In conclusion; this game is a strange/cringe masterpiece that goes far deeper than anyone would ever expect and its kind of impossible to recommend unless you want to simulate a soul crushing job. KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

lol at the Icelandic part because its so damn true! thank you for sharing your experience! I can definitely see the similarities with Death Stranding. I hyped myself up so much with those amazing Kojima edited cutscene trailers they drip-fed us before release. The mystery of it and the cool imagery got me wanting more. Plus I wanted Kojima to succeed because of what Konami did to him. And then it released and I saw what the game was and it surprised me and sort of put me off. I saw out of context cringe dialogue in cutscenes which is par for the course with Hideo but it was just too much for me. I grabbed the directors cut for free on Epic Games Store - when they initially made a mistake and gave it away instead of just the base version, but let people who claimed the Directors Cut keep it for free. I keep looking at it in my library wondering if it is worth the time to sit and play when I have a lot of other critically acclaimed open world games installed and ready to play building up in my backlog of the past decade. I saw the reveal trailer for the 2nd one and it has got me me intrigued yet again. I guess I will always be a sucker for the way Kojima presents stuff. Maybe I will give it a shot this year. I heard it runs really well on PC too. Nice video.

started last night and i just stoped now early morning(4+ hours gameplay) Well i had this game ever since 1st discount after the release so its been sitting there in my library n collecting "digital dust"! start of the game is at once intresting and then the slow paced stuff starts up and its here i usually stoped playing and gave up before even 2hours into the game.. But when i reached a bit longer into the game and started liking it i just kept on playing......still its a bit slow vs other games m used to...but its slow in a good way"if that makes any sense at all?) Just started to learn about the "ghosts" and i still really understand what to actually do when the "baby" starts to warn me? Well i hunced down and moved really slow and also kept my breath(thats a fun thing if u do that for to long i guess SAM can faint or something!)... If this is all i can do when these things show up i dont know yet? So i found a mc..but was unloaded and i think im supposed to make it run again(so might be a bit more speed for a bit atleast later on in this game!) Death Stranding or directors cut differences?? dont really know 100% whats the difference yet..but as far as i understand i can get weapons(rubber bullets i think due to cant kill npcs in this game without setting of a explosion in the nuclear strenght i think?) So from 2019 to 2024/2025 there has been a few years from not playing it and never would at all to looking at these videos about this game and actually installing it again n forcing myself to get through the 1st parts....after this it just keeps on getting better n better.....so for all out there like me...Just try it out for 4-6hours and even 10....ad u will probably change your mind with this "walking sim" and realise its not that only but a bit moore to it w pretty open world visuals n intresting story i still dont get 100% of exept what game told me so far! Thanks 4 this video! Keep up the great work(made me want to actually jump back into this game i gave up on in 2019-2020)!! Huge THANKS

I have a practical question. I heard the ending cutscene (or a series of cutscenes?) is massive. How long is it actually? And does it have any "checkpoints" or do you have to sit through it all. I sometimes have as little as 1,5 hours of free time to play so I'm seriously worried (after what I've heard) that I won't be able to watch that ending in it's entirety, when I finally get to it :)
@TheAbandonedAccount79 ай бұрын
It took me right about 2 hours. Theres technically 2 endings tho, so you can stop before episode 14 starts. The bulk of it was the first part tho, so probably 1hr 45 for the first ending, and then 15 minutes or so for the 2nd part
@ayemaldo9 ай бұрын
I want to say the ending cutscene took me about 2 hours, but that number could be off because that’s how long it felt lol. 😂 i would definitely try and start the cutscene at the beginning of your session because i believe you can pause it, but skipping it is hard due to some “playable” sections which are mostly you just walking around. if you do miss it, you can always rewatch the ending on youtube to catch up on what you missed!

For all the greatess it has to offer, it does suffer from poor pacing in the beginning. The tutorial area was too vast and there was a bit too much exposition. A better mix of this would have kept more people engaged.
@KabbalahSherry10 ай бұрын
So you never made it off the 1st map?! 🤦🏻♀️😂 Well alright then. lol But you missed out on the most MASSIVE part of the game. The 1st map is just the tutorial phase. They want to make sure you know the mechanics, have a feeling for walking in the world, carrying cargo, using stealth around the BTs, driving a vehicle, building structures, fighting Mules & using the blood grenades. Those are the most basic fundamentals in the game, so they NEED players to be able to handle those things, otherwise, there'd be no way they'd be able to do everything you gotta deal with later. Which is sh*t like trudging through massive storms, combat in war scenes, getting into shootouts with Terrorists, scaling some of the highest mountain peaks on the Map, building an entire highway, leaping over building to avoid massive sea creatures, racing against the clock to bring an inured Porter extra blood, or battling the main enemy's giant hybrid lion. For f*cks sakes... YES you missed a lot. 😩 *sigh* Some of ya'll need lessons in patience! Just get in the world, get through the 1st map, and move on to the real game. Because once you get to chapter 3, it really opens up for you. Everything is cranked up. You're dealing with a MUCH larger Map, all sorts of different kinds of terrain, Weather conditions, Mules, etc. Not to mention being rewarded with way cooler gear, vehicles, and weapons. Or don't. It's up to you. But you'll never know what you missed out on til you try. Good Luck.
