That's why I like to watch Super Bike racing because they're small enough to easily pass each other, go a whole race without coming into the pits because there's enough fuel & the tires don't need to be changed, as well as the dynamics involved in leaning over into the corners. Takes a lot of guts & experience to do that right while foot peg changing thru 6 gears while operating a hand clutch.

When racing with a motorcycle you normally only use the clutch to start... It is faster and more easy to just "float the gears" and change the gears just using the gas to match the revs on the engine for the next gear. I did grow up driving 2 stroke dirt bike so later when I got a old Yamaha FZ750 I used same clutch less technique when I was in a hurry :) But normally when just cruising I would use the clutch.

I remember riding with a friend, he was ahead of me 18 feet, we went into a 30mph corner doing 80mph. There's no steering at that speed. It's just throw the handlebars as hard as you can and throw your weight into the corner. I came out of the corner ahead of him still in my lane. I think back to crap I used to do now that I'm old and get chills everytime.

I came within 2 inches of slamming the wall during that s turn. even with proper tires there's just no way that dodge even with my upgraded suspension tires was gunna make it through at 80.miss the car dearly but I love my wrx way more. ive had so much fun in the mountains with my Subaru. lol more like a reminder that the *power to weight ratio* and by extension the *cornering, handling, and acceleration* that a 2 wheeled machine has along with the added change of center of gravity makes it better suited for this kind of wide sweeping turn. Now let's watch as they fly past him through those rough ass carousel turns. This is an apples to oranges comparison. He's got balls to hold that line when the slightest wiggle from the Ferrari ends his day and possibly his life but this is really blowing some things out of proportion without taking obvious differences in vehicles into consideration. I mean I bet a formula one or LMP car would make *both* of these guys look like turtles on *every* turn. Again he may be good but this video doesn't really show anything that's extraordinary other than guts.

@@chrisi7127 @0:09 you can see his body position - this is called X-body position, it was invented by Doohan in the 70'. It's considered outdated. His head is very horizontal as well. Sometime it is used to see better or when it's wet (counterbalance turn) but then you don't drag your knee as well. Overall, it looks sketchy or outdated. His head is not following his body in the rest of the turn as well, maybe he can't see with head vertically (it's a skill you learn). Normally I would say it's because he wants to keep distance from the cars but I can see that even after overtaking his head moves in the opposite, detached direction from his body. Throttle roll-on is not right in the turn. There are cars (and water) there so I can understand that. But if we're talking about "perfect" - there was no consistent roll on of the throttle throughout the turn. Still, awesome riding and I would never ride like this on the wet track, so kudos.
