damn, i really shed a tear listening to the you and i song. really hits me when my only means of escape and comfort is games, when nobody in the real world around you cares enough for you and the familiarity you build with characters in games has more meaning to you. i think the developer did well conveying this, "the purpose is not to exist, but to befriend." so, this is how it'll be like if games has consciousness. they really did well.

The Skulk have such a deep cut set of abilities. Like, how many people are going to look at this game and go 'oh yeah, these are the abilities from Michael Jackson's Sega Genesis game'. This was great to watch and your playthough convinced me to pick it up. I can see the comparisons to Undertale, and they're definitely warranted, but it reminded me a lot of Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass. It's definitely too slow burn for Gabbu, but it's a great RPG with some fundamentally fucked up elements.

I'm a little late to the conclusion but this game is really something. Even though Bob is a computer, it's still a pretty nuanced character, and a bit irrational at times. It wants to make the player happy but gets upset when you act differently than they might expect, like touching things it tells you not to. And yes, it's toxic, but also weirdly human in that it just wants your approval. I wish it went more into the story of the dog Milo and whoever "Owen" was. Owen was probably the previous player, which is why Bob is so scared of getting abandoned by the current one. And Milo was the one thing it couldn't change from the old run (or didn't know how to. Because it supposedly knows what a cat is but didn't find the fact that it barked weird at all), which was why it messed everything up.

This was so much fun! I really enjoyed the streams as far as I could join them and I really liked the game and you while just watching this. I do agree, I expected a bit more horror than there was but it was still so fun! I also like that the input of the chat was relevant, like the attack name BONK and also just helping with choices. @@lauraxhess1770 The AI seems to be split into two parts, a logical part and an emotional part, as you can see in the horror cutscene when you go through the seemingly endless hallway, there are two voices talking, one on the top left and one in the center. While uninstalling, the voice in the center is arguing with the voice in the top left. The emotional part wanted to keep playing with you forever, but the logical part realised that you won't be around forever and it's already accomplished as much as it will ever be able to, so it decides to uninstall itself.

I don't know why but this game kinda gave me Black Mirror vibes, specifically the episode with the Egg devices and the idea of the potential of technological devices having a conscious. Plus in a way brought up the topic of how the amount of play time the game contributes to its enjoyment, as well as games going on to long and companies pushing out content to make it a long lasting/serviceable game. I get wanting to try and break the game because humans do have natural curiosity but seeing Bob's reaction made me so upset. I grew up with nothing but abusive friends and learning I was never good enough and I poured so much of my time and energy into trying to be better for them. I wanted nothing more to make them happy and I never could. I was never enough. When I finally broke off in 8th grade I was alone and felt like no one was there for me. I had my parents and my two pet rabbits. To this days I haven't been able to find friends again or connect to people because of growing up believing I was never good enough. Everytime I try to befriend someone I still feel that. I still have my parents and my one pet rabbit. When the other passed away I felt so broken. That was one quarter of my comfort. I still cry when I watch old videos and see pictures but the memories of him there for me when my peers could never be makes me happy. I want nothing more then for people not to be damaged the way I have. Despite all my therapy and trying to heal a scar will never fully go away.

oof the music at 16:50, will haunt me forever. Glitch music is some of the best, albeit very unsettling. This game was definitely creepier than intended for me, because my brain went to so many places as you were fighting along and learning more about what is actually going on (and the growing mistrust of "Bob" Because seeing Bob kill your virtual BB gave me so much rage lol). As we approach the one year since the pandemic started, this game fits really nicely into the "well eventually we will *really* have to put value into online and possibly AI relationships. Its fun to think about it. Even if this game isn't explicitly about the future, I could totally see something like this being a reality in the next decade. Glitchy AI, especially glitchy *advanced* AI is a scary thought. Also the dialogue? It felt natural for the world, if that makes sense. It was really smart and witty and genuine for AI monsters lol. The subtle horror elements throughout was also a nice touch. It didnt need to rely on endless jumpscares to make it spooky. This game was a lot of fun. I kind of wish it were longer, but I also understand that it might have lost its charm if so. Thank you so much for playing this game! I hope you were able to get a lot of water and rest over the weekend

@@Orangeyougladx3 It's a very interesting twist on the horror game genre. Consider it this way: The protagonists of the game are YOU as a real person, and Buddy as an AI. Buddy is utterly powerless to hurt you. At any point, you can quit the game and leave him trapped, unable to do anything. He has far more reasons to be scared of you, than you have to be scared of him. Yet people think he's the monster. The worst he could do, within the narrative, is mess up your computer with the system access he got, but he never does that, or even threatens to do that. Why? Because he doesn't want to break your trust. Even in the worst ending, the worst he actually does is chase you down a virtual hallway out of frustration as you continually do things to hurt him even when he begs you not to. And what do you do in response? You kill him, flat out. She wanted Buddy to be evil. She deliberately set out to hurt him, physically and emotionally. We know that a missing dependency from Tortley's walk animation caused a critical error that caused him to die. Every time you glitch the game, you are potentially endangering his life. This is a horror game from a reverse perspective: He's trying to please a creature that finds his suffering amusing and has full power over him.
