It looks like principles to live by to be successful in life, not just in military service.

I know this this your brand. I get that. I love the Army SF, I do believe they are amazing. But damn bro I served in the Army long enough and was stationed on Bragg when I was in the 82nd for several years so I met quite a few of you guys and can tell you that you are speaking in ideals and not reality

Your comment just doesn't make sense, SF was created for special ops missions therefore at times they have to think out of the box to get the job done. And as far as reality, they are at the tip of the spear, quite a few have been killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Regards, Denis Berte' SFC 1st Group 18E (84-95).

Have you ever considered giving your perspective on what happened in Afghanistan? I have read some of Scott Mans books on his experiences there. You may have already and I just didn’t see the video. I am assuming you deployed there? Just wondering. You get up at 4:30? Awww my goodness! I would die!

The US has at least 50 years of history in Afghanistan. Which part are you referring to? The part where SF basically outmaneuvered and beat the Taliban within months after 9/11?

@@v-2010 “The U.S. has at least 50 years of history in Afghanistan.” 50 years? Can you explain further? I was referring to the sudden pullout after the 20 years war.

@EricaSmith123 In 1979 the USSR invaded Afghanistan. There are some geographically significant reasons that countries want to be able to maintain a presence in Afghanistan. Anyway, as this was the midst of the Cold War, the US intervened by funding and arming a group called the Mujahadeen. After the USSR gave up in Afghanistan, of its top guys would go on to found a group called Al Queda. His name was Osama Bin Laden. Throughout the late 80s and into the 2000s Al Queda orchestrated many international terrorist attacks. In the wake of 9/11/01, Green Berets were first on the ground in Afghanistan. They leveraged local militias in Afghanistan to nearly defeat the Taliban. For 20 years the Taliban leadership moved around the country and US forces chased them. In 2021 the president decided we would give up large airbases which would be particularly strategic in a conflict with China. Many Americans have no idea how aggressive China became in the wake of the 2020 US civil strife. Those spy balloons are a small part of the story. Regardless, announcing our departure would have created nearly as much chaos as not announcing it so here we are. I’m not saying I condone it but there was never going to be a good way to do it.

@@v-2010 Yes, I was aware the U.S. govt. funded opposition groups during the Soviet invasion. Ahmad Shah Massoud, was the brilliant military leader, he was an essential component in beating the Russians. Ahmed, was a guerrilla commander of The Northern Alliance during the resistance against the Soviet occupation during the Soviet-Afghan War. I thought you were saying we had troops there for the past 50 years. And I don’t remember reading anything about that historically. Yes, the U.S. government has a tendency to stick its nose in places it doesn’t belong. The Middle East is a complex place. Too complex for most Americans to understand or even bother to learn about. Our govt. has been more concerned with policing the world vs doing what is right by the American people. It’s always interesting to hear perspectives from people who were on the ground in Afghanistan. I agree, there was probably no chance of us winning in Afghanistan. Green Berets do what they do best☺️❤️. Small man teams….with huge impacts wherever they go☺️.

Hahahah. Bruh. First of all thank so you much for you bravery serving. But I will say this. All that stuff really to be honest with you is an overall military thing. And just because you’re special forces doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll do all these things. It’s really about the person, not the job someone has.
