The guy in the checked shirt said he was now angry. Well , I stand with him in his anger, but my anger is totally directed at the police and their attitude towards two tie policing, which they deny, of course. I think I've every right to my anger, as they besmirch my reputation as a retired police officer. I was proud to wear the uniform, police without fear or favour, malice or ill will. The public paid my wages, and I worked for them to the best of my abilities. The distrust stems from the top, and we used to say, "shit rolls down hill and us poor bastards, we always live in the valley." The fourth floor lot, known as the cover your arse brigade, has a lot to answer for. I WAS proud to have served the public, but they have let all of us down with their misguided approach to policing without fear or favour.

Go read Section 24A of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. He CAN arrest you if you commit an Indictable Offence, such as damage to property. You have the same redress for illegal arrest and wrongful detention as for any other arrest, and it would be interesting to hear what the BlackBeltBarrister made of his threats as a form of Assault.
