Here's my interpretation of this line: "I used to think love *would be* fun" says that Stolas has become disillusioned with the idea of love. He thought it would always make him feel good and he is disappointed that it hasn't. It implies he has given up on love for that reason. I think "I used to think love *was for* fun" is a more mature statement. It still means the singer used to think that love would always bring him pleasure, and it still means that he he knows better now. But this time it implies that he has learned that love actually has a DIFFERENT purpose which he CAN appreciate. Am I making any sense? I actually think the original line "I used to think love would be fun" is more accurate for Stolas, sadly. It shows that he is using Blitzo to get the "fun" that his marriage hasn't given him, rather than appreciate the relationships with his wife and daughter that he has. I changed the line in my cover because I thought it was more hopeful and a better image of what SHOULD happen.

Honestly, I think Stolas is showing his true stance in these lyrics. If Heaven starts a full scale invasion of Hell, he’d stand guard in defense of the Rings of Hell as one of its Lords, but he’d do anything to send Octavia away from the danger.

Old theories I read where about how to song tells of how Stolas and the rest of the demons cast out or fallen are prophesied to one day wage their last war on heaven in Armageddon. He will die in the sky as heaven burns on Earth and the Trumpet the calls all the redeemed and saved to a new heaven (kinda, theology stuff) and all demons not saved will die. Since Stolas is a prophecy expert and seer, makes sense for his song to be a prophecy. Which means Octavia will have a front row seat to the end of the world and the death of her father as she ascends.

Ho-ly crap So I was just looking through different artists that collaborate with ones I listen to, and stumbled upon Elsie Lovelock’s collaboration. I decided to check out this “Annapantsu” person, and found out they did a cover of Stolas’ Lullaby, I remember liking the little adjustments to the lyric placement (I don’t know the name of the real term for it) then when the chorus started, I remember thinking to myself: “Oh no, the pitch is too high, there’s not enough vocal range to create the high note when they say “align”” and when I heard them actually manage to hit that level of a high note, I internally screamed, a lot. HOW DOES ONE DO THAT?? YOUR VOICE IS TOO PERFECT!!! Amazing job, you did this beautiful piece more than justice.

I left my home last year to enlist in the Navy. I haven't seen my parents nor my siblings since I left 14 months ago It's been hard, and exhausting and I've been wanting to see them for the longest time, as my mental health feels like it's been declining since I left. And as I might head home within the next month, I've never felt so much dread and fear, as I don't feel like I accomplished enough to be gone for this long. What am I going to say, how am I going to behave? Did I live up to their expectations or did I fail them? I've thought about this for a while and done things to myself in response to it, but I haven't found a way to gain a sense of relief. This is probably why this song is hitting me so hard right now.
