tbh just block low and 2H if you see them jump, if they do 5H or backdash just keep blocking low, if you think you can react to 5H you could reflect but it's kinda risky. Also, DON'T SPARK AFTER HIS LEVEL 3.

This is a huge thing thats holding me back. Ive practiced combos like crazy, so I can get a good confirm, but im an idiot when it comes to taking advantage of knockdown. Higher level opponents eat me up there. Its like im good until they touch me, and then I'm fucked until the character is dead and neutral is reset.

"soft knockdowns" or forced tech situations are really good for reset. especially when they force air-tech or ground tech/re-stand. they can even be used for some like gimmick setups when it looks like a combo is dropped.

They should take away all 50/50s. Shouldn’t fighting games be about skill and not chance? Losing because you got hit from an unavoidable attack where you literally couldn’t do anything but guess and hope for the best means you just lost not because the opponent was better or has more skill but because they hit you with a cheap 50/50 and it’s impossible to guess right🤷🏻‍♂️

50/50’s are avoidable in this game though. A good number of them either have a gaps to be set up that you can reflect or you can guard cancel them (Tohan j236m can be reflected and j236 can be guard canceled on reaction same for a Gohan j236x and kid buu 2s x j236h can be reflected and j236m doesn’t jail from anything) those are just a few examples and even if those outs may not be in your favor at times there’s always an answer.

There's also a special kind of sliding knockdown that doesn't allow delay tech, but I've only seen it on Blue Vegeta's command grab. Either that or it's just the game being iffy, but for some reason I've not seen anyone down tech it nor been able to myself
