"Someone has been a bit ham fisted with this". PING!! And off pops the screw onto the floor as the good lady twists and turns the flange! And then the spring pops out! Quality moments right there! 🤣🤣🤣

A good trick with pull cords without a handle is to wrap the cord around the handle of a screw driver to save the strain on your hands. The other is the saws. You have to cut some wood with them to make sure they are fine. I have one that runs great until you cut wood then it slows to a stop and another one that runs great until you cut wood and you find there is a wobble in the shaft. Things to look at out. Great buys tho.

Well done Kim for saving some more gems, really like that extract fan could have done with that this week had a hot water leak under the floor boards, would have been ideal for sucking the steam out. 👍

Growing up in New England (New Hampshire, USA) we called the “pole’ you’d attach the laser receiver to, a surveyor’s rod. Don’t know what you’d call it in Jolly Old England.,,,,,🤷♂️😜😜

It's only a bargain if you can use it to make money. Useful tools can pay for themselves the first time you use them. Some tools I've had to scan the used ads for years to find. The trick is knowing what's worth chasing. I put a VFD on my belt linisher inspired by you Kim ! Cheers.
@CalamityKim16 ай бұрын
True enough. I think it’s a bargain if it helps you whilst saving money from new items. I haven’t ever done that bad from the auction. I got bit a couple of times but never that badly. I’m really pleased to hear. Did it improve your linisher?
@joschmoyo45326 ай бұрын
@@CalamityKim1 Everybody gets bitten a few times but that's the price you pay for digging up treasure. The linisher is so much easier to use now with a VFD. It's a 1hp three phase and sometimes that's way to aggressive and fast at 1440 rpm. It's a 2" wide belt. I picked it up for a song because the switch was shot. Put in a new one, repacked the bearings and good as new Luv. Indispensable machine. Cheers. Love the channel.
@CalamityKim16 ай бұрын
Excellent. I’ve thought about making a decent linisher on a number of occasions. Now I have a mill I may just do that. I have a few ideas. Glad to hear it worked out 🙂

@@CalamityKim1 They are all the rage now if you need a click bait title. You can buy kit's or make your own. Mine has a 96" belt. 72" is the most popular. They are just so damned handy. Much more precise than a bench grinder. You can grind, polish and shape with them. Wood and metal. With a coarse belt they can remove material really fast too. The VFD makes it so much more user friendly for fine work. Sharpening chisels, plane irons, cabinet scrapers etc. Best of all its fast. Do it Kim !

Auctions are a dangerous drug, lol. I never realize how much I need something until it comes up for auction and the price is cheap.
@aricp91736 ай бұрын
I'm glad to have a Kim video! You probably know but with the air compressor, make sure you empty any potential water out through the petcock at the bottom. For any potential spring escapes in the future, use zip ties on opposite ends to ensure they stay in their place! The blower will be great for summer. It shouldn't be too expensive to replace the cover and assorted bits on the compressor since Briggs is pretty reasonable on most of their prices for parts. Machinery Restorer is based out of Britain so he might be able to help, or have bits he'd be willing to get you. 🙂

Great video Kim 👍 gonna have to apologise for when you did that recoil starter and it decided to leave the building 🙄😳🤣🤣🤣🤣, that brought back memories 🤔 when you replace a pull cord do you melt the end so that it cant fray 🤔 did you get the tripods with the laser levels 🤔 also have to say we had Topcon lasers that worked outside as well 👍 think deal of the day had to be the little petrol pump especially as you got the hoses to go with it 👌
@CalamityKim16 ай бұрын
I was getting so frustrated. I messed about with that pull cord for far too long! Then when it exploded i had to walk away 🤣 Yes I did but I didn’t want to show how I did it. Incase anyone moaned at me 👀🤣 No I didn’t get any stands but I did see they’re cheap as chips online. Loads available That petrol pressure wash was a bargain. I should get more than that for mine so I’m please!

Ooh..... Tell me about auction fever! Thankfully, my dad's guidance helped me to get that under control. My little dog was a bit of a runaway bidder though. The amount of stuff she bought was absolutely bonkers. I kid you not, she even bought a tractor, a generator, an arc welder, a couple of ride-on mowers and loads of spare parts. She was good at picking worthwhile items, and good at knowing when to hold the bids. I've had my fingers burnt on a few occasions though, but also came away with some serious bargains as well!

@@CalamityKim1 Haha ... Love it, she was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (black and tan), called Pockets (aka Sprout) and would go with us wherever we went. It all began with a bark at one sale, and the auctioneer replied "Is that a bid?" So for a laugh I said yes. As long as she kept her eyes on me, I kept the bids rolling. If she looked away, that's where we left it. Even Dad was amazed by her. She was an amazing little dog, and she died not long after my dad - She even attended his funeral, and insisted that we should go in Dad's Isuzu Trooper instead of my car. I still have the Isuzu, but no longer Dad and Pockets.
