I made a super cheap ramp out of Corrugated Fluted Board, (real-estate agents use it as the for sale signs when you sell your house.)Any way long story short you can usually get it free second hand, it cuts with a knife or scissors, you just screw a couple of timber supports in & bam, you have a light weight stong ramp, at your desired width. No more missing the target Phill. 😅

I have built one with a corrugated flute board and my Arma Kraton blew right threw it. I'm sure it's good with 1/10 scale but my 1/8th and 1/5th blew it to pieces. Maybe I should have doubled up on the ramp face.

A while ago I found a portable collapsible ramp called killaramp on the bay. To me it looks like they were built from snow plows cut in half or similar. They had two different widths, luckily I got one of each. Since I bought mine I cannot find them anymore for sale anywhere but the video is still here on youtube if you search. I've hit mine full speed with a 6S Kraton and it loves it.

Our fix for the ramp we built was to carpet it with exterior boat deck carpeting (looks like short, fake grass) and staple it down with a length running off the entry of the ramp, replacing the metal lip. It seemed to greatly reduce the shock of first hitting the ramp and gave beautifully consistent behavior. Really fun video to watch, cheers!

I thought it was a great test. All three performed well. The HPI di very well. I was thinking before the the jumps that you are landing on wet ground which will be soft and nothing will break. That wasn't the case. II wonder of the wet ground grabbed the trucks when they landing and caused some things to break. Some of the landings were at odd angles. I like the plastic skateboard jumps. They are easy to store, no screws to come loose and they don't rot. This was a simple video, but a lot of fun. RIP go pro.

That ramp is JUNNNK Phil! You know Ramps are easy to build, you have an impact, so all's you really need is a jigsaw (very easy to use). For $175 you could build multiple ramps and choose the angles. There's videos all over YT, it would also make a good video for your channel. You worked on helicopters, building ramps will be fluffy cake.

Im a big fan. Watch every vid and have right back to the garage days.....but..... it feels like a some of the vids are getting a bit similar... ie lets either take it down the skatepark and launch it or in this case a ramp or rip it up and down the dirt and it does X speed on Y cells. Dunno. Just sharing my opinion and still very much a big fan of the channel. Would love to see some build and mod vids (the huge truck is very interesting for example) or what about a top gear style challange.... £100 ebay challange youtuber race.. i realise coming up with ideas AND keeping up the volume of content for us lot is hard. You do a great job. I suppose thinking about it is im asking for my cake (regular content) and eating it (new and interesting ideas)😊 Come on Phil sort it out lol

Maybe im just anti bash lol 🙂 anyway keep up the good work and thanks for the quick reply. One thing i do welcome in any vid is your good comentry on the handling, i tend to find a much bigger difference in how cars handle vs speed and even durability ( most are pretty good on both these days) i tend to find thats the biggest fun factor for me anyway when you have a nice handling car and some are much better than others

I have both the MT10 and Q2 flux. Both had a LOT of teething problems with stuff coming loose due to not being thread-locked properly. The Q2 Flux needs thread lock on grub screws each end of the drive shaft. I had 2 bearings at the front end disintegrate before I discovered this. The motor screws also came loose, but that was less of a problem, since it has a motor plate with fixed positions. The MT10 had constant problems with the motor moving causing the spur to either become too tight and make a screaming noise, or become too loose and strip off the teeth. This was solved by red thread locking all the bolts involving the motor, and also red thread-locking the pinion to the motor shaft. I then put some epoxy putty underneath the motor, so that the motor can't slam off the chassis and bend the motor plate anymore. The servo saver also self-loosens very easily causing the steering to become extremely sloppy. This needs to be super glued into a fixed position, but then there's no adjustment afterwards. Both cars had problems with the body posts smashing through the body. I solved this by replacing the stock body posts with aluminium bolts, nuts and nylon washers. Also Shoo Goo'd and fibataped the affected areas of the body. This makes all the difference. Other things that need thread locking are the nuts and bolts that hold on the turnbuckles for the suspension. Q2 has broken 1 front hub carrier - and there is no alloy replacement. MT10 has also broken a front hub carrier, so I upgraded to Fastrax alloy parts. MT10 has RPM arms fitted from new. MT10 has broken a few front shock plastic lower eyelets and I believe the upgraded shocks have the same plastic eyelet. I wish you could buy a version of these cars that has been sorted out by an experienced builder. With all the tread locking, epoxy puttying and all necessary upgrade parts fitted. The cars might be relatively cheap, but the spare parts and upgrades is where they get you.
