upscaling the image down to hell, adding fake frames, lowering the base setting just to see some clouds reflecting realistically on a lake. is the artefacts from all those settings, running out of vram, getting stutters, blurry and washed out image, low fps and lag a fair trade just to be able to enable path tracing?

@@theivadim imo ray tracing just isn't it yet and there is a reason you don't enable it, one being that it's extremely hard to run properly even with very expensive gpus and the other being that in about 7 years, only the three games u tested have ray tracing that makes a real and big difference in the visuals.

I tried modded cyberpunk hacked to allow amd framegen on a used 2070 and was getting 40fps. now i have a 4070S. One thing that I did notice is that DLSS is a pretty good anti-aliasing solution. And that DLSS becomes a blurry mess the less framerate it has to work with.

@metalface_villain6 күн бұрын
@xovgamer they are though, they are fake frames the gpu guesses and puts in between real ones. the name is a scam, it's not frame gen but more like frame smoothening and the lower your original frames the worse the result. frame gen also produces artefacts and gives a washed look. i see ppl use it all the time thinking it will give them frames and save them when the tech isn't for that, it's just to get higher refresh when you already got enough frames.

@theivadim6 күн бұрын
I'd go for the Ryzen 7 7700X. Of course, if it's not too expensive in your region. But the 7600X will get the job done in most cases. But you have to make sure that you're not using CPU intensive settings in some games. Like the highest level of crowd density in Cyberpunk. The 7600X won't be able to deliver a smooth experience if you enable that.

@theivadim3 күн бұрын
Some games are just stuttery. Try locking FPS at a value that your PC can consistently deliver. Like a 60 FPS lock if you are getting 70-80 FPS. If that doesn't get rid of stuttering then something might be wrong with your hardware or system stability. Sometimes an unstable overclock can cause all sorts of trouble. Even the official out of the box overclock for Intel CPUs can cause this kind of instability. I had to update BIOS and lower power preset on my i7 14700K to get rid of stutters in some games. Try that as well. Set Intel base power limit in BIOS after updating to the latest version.

The biggest problems with RT are noise and artefacts. Because current generation hardware isn't powerful enough to run games at a high ray count, denoisers have to be used to fill in the missing pixels where rays weren't able to properly get to. Denoisers blend the sampled rays together, leading to low-quality and inaccurate RT effects. Current ray-traced games use a low ray count, which causes a noisy image with artefacts. More rays and bounces mean higher image quality, more accurate RT effects, and less noise and artefacts. Increasing the number of rays and bounces is the most effective way to make RT/PT look substantially better. The problem is that the higher the ray count, the more demanding it becomes, which is why it's not a viable solution yet. Video games still haven't unlocked the full potential of RT graphics. Once hardware is powerful enough to run games at a high ray count, ray tracing will look absolutely phenomenal without all the horrible noise and artefacts. RT is the future of gaming graphics, at least for single-player games.
@theivadim6 күн бұрын
The overall presentation looked fine to me, but I understand what you’re saying. Higher quality is always a plus. I’m confident that as ray tracing hardware continues to mature, we’ll see improvements in image quality. I’m looking forward to that future!

@AaronWOfficial6 күн бұрын
@@kuzzzzzzzzzzzz7511 If you get a VRR (Variable Refresh Rate\Gsync\Freesync) display, the only part of FPS you need to worry about is if the FPS goes higher than your refresh rate (easy fix, just cap your fps with rivatuner). As long as the fps is under your refresh rate, you have nothing to worry about other than "is my fps bad". I just turn gsync + vsync on in nvidia cp, and cap my fps at 144 in rivatuner on a 240hz monitor tbh. I think anything over 144 fps is overkill unless you are ultra competitive doing esports\tournaments and stuff. The reason I use a 240hz monitor for 144 fps, is gsync doesn't play nice when capping at your monitor's refresh rate and it is generally recommended to cap fps slightly below your refresh rate so I wouldn't be able to cap at 144 fps if I had a 144hz monitor. Plus it is nice to have more hz than you need, for future proofing. Maybe some day 240hz will become standard, and I will be all set when that happens.

4070 super is not a 4k card that is why he didn't do it. Just unrealistic to expect 4k from this card. I have a 4070 super myself, and I always turn ray tracing off so I can play in native 1440p at good framerates. Ray tracing is just not worth the image quality drop you get from DLSS.

@LeaveMyGun5 күн бұрын
Ps5 pro will probably have the equivalent of medium settings and low raytracing, and no frame generation@@Czarhi
@AaronWOfficial5 күн бұрын
@@Czarhi ps5 pro will not be native 4k, it will basically be a downclocked 4070 (same feature set, slightly less raw power) with worse upscaling. Looking at an internal resolution of 1440p or lower upscaled to 4k in the pro enhanced setting, but DLSS is better quality upscaling than PSSR and you will get better frame stability with the 4070 series cards because of the extra raw power it has on the pro gpu. So if you want higher fidelity without breaking bank go with a 4070 super, and either play native 1440p or use DLSS to get to 4k. If you really want 4k gaming on most games, 4080 super or 4090 is the way to go but good luck finding a 4090 XD. You can still run some games native 4k on the 4070 just some games such as black myth wukong, alan wake 2, cyberpunk for example are extremely demanding so you should expect to have to upscale for these types of games. Personally I would advise against 4k, it is just far too expensive and to keep up with 4k gaming you are going to have to upgrade again in a few years. 1440p is far easier to get + higher framerates are much easier to achieve. And personally I would rather use the money that would be spent on 4k hardware to get a nice 27" QD-OLED 1440p monitor with 240hz. OLED + higher refresh rate and faster response time is a far bigger deal than 4k.

Ray Tracing is a bad joke. I had 3 videocards RTX during the last 15 months, and I used RT only in several games. RT good in Ratchet & Clank, Metro Exodus, Cyberpunk, Control. The most games look the same with or without raytracing. Alan Wake 2, Dead Space Remake, Forza Motorsport. And RT is for videocards RTX6000-7000 series. I can't use RT on RTX 4080 Super in 4K, cos I need to use DLSS Performance and DLSS Framegen for it. It costs too much. I prefer to play DLSS Quality without RT. And the same was with 4070, I can't use RT in 2K for the most of games.
@AaronWOfficial6 күн бұрын
Ray Tracing is like 60% placebo. When you are actually playing you don't even notice it. The 50% fps drop is far more noticeable than the ray tracing :P. Everyone I ever spoke to about ray tracing says the same thing "not worth the performance loss" and I agree.
@Denis-wk7km15 күн бұрын
@@AaronWOfficial It's true. The most of games looks 99% the same with Ray Tracing, but make -20-40% fps. The main problem is that modern consoles and PC can launch real RT. I can't play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K, DLSS Quality and RT without Frane Generation or lower DLSS (that make image not sharp at all). It’s a smaller issue than you might think. I haven’t played any game in 2024 where 12GB of VRAM wasn’t enough to provide a pleasant experience. I play on a 4K monitor with the 4070 SUPER, using DLSS.
@AaronWOfficial5 күн бұрын
@@theivadim I am tired of this misconception about VRAM. People neglect to mention that the super has GDDR6X which is a higher memory bandwidth than the standard GDDR6 most cards have. VRAM capacity isn't everything, how the VRAM is used matters a lot more. Memory clocks\bandwidth speeds\what bus the memory has etc.
@shargakunКүн бұрын
It is not so the vram as the bus. the much slower arc A750 has 256 bit and when you play on it it is stable. The 192 bit bus on the 4070 super is the big crash, not the vram
@AaronWOfficial23 сағат бұрын
@@shargakun Not 100% correct The bit of a bus can matter, but it depends on what clock the memory has. A card with a lower memory clock with a 256 bit bus will often be outperformed by a card with a higher memory clock and a 192 bit bus. If not outperformed, then they will be about equivalent performance. The only time the 256 bit bus will outperform is when the memory clock is not a significant jump. Memory bandwidth is determined by the bit interface of the GPU and the memory clock. It is not either\or, it is both together. For example, if I have a card with 256-bit bus that is -2000mhz vs a card with a 192-bit bus, the memory bandwidth would be roughly the same between both cards
