S4 E1: Our latest stock! (Link down below) The 1937 Jaguar SS100. Perhaps one of the most iconic pre-war sport cars of all time! A phenomenally built exact recreation by Jason Len of XK Unlimited. A vehicle that allows you to admire and embody the pre-war experience with modern day comfort and reliability. Powered by a Jaguar XJ6 inline 6 motor with fuel supplied by dual S.U carburetors, matted to a Jaguar 4 speed manual with over drive. Four wheel disc brakes, rack & pinion steering, proper SS instruments, fold down windshield. Only 1,850 miles on this example since completion.

This entire car is actually a Suffolk SS100 replica imported from England and assembled in California by Jason Len's restoration shop. This is a very high quality car in its own right.

Unfortunately Jaguar threatened to take the motor court abd sue them. The last time I heard they company Suffolk were nolonger in business.

1936 and 1937 SS 100s were 2.5 litre and had a single exhaust system. In 1938 a 3.5 litre engine was also offered and a dual exhaust system was fitted to all models.

As a old car guy, and not focused on money, but practicality and craftmanship, I prefer this above the original. Awesome creation of the original. Would have given anything to own it and cherish it. Love from (deep dark) Africa.

I like the brooklands aeroscreens , SS had to be changed because of the link with Germany in the 1930s, some say it was to do with swallow sidecars others claim standard swallow?

The “Suffolk” company in the UK has had to cease production of their various replica cars due to legal action by Jaguar Cars Ltd., .the reasons for this are obvious: “Jaguar” appears all over this vehicle, implying it was made by Jaguar Cars. I’m just surprised it took so long to bring the people behind this creation to heel. And it is not a “replica”; by definition, a “replica” has to be identical to the original. That is certainly not the case here.

Beautiful car and I own an original 1938 Hudson convertible and can agree that the driving experience of this recreation would be much easier in modern traffic ;) I hope to own one, one day.

Good video, but it would have been nice to mention the Suffolk company in England that manufactures the kit, based on a donor 1968-1992 Jaguar XJ-6. XKs in California is but the assembler. The Suffolk is an incredibly accurate reproduction of the original, from the outside. However, there is a total give-away that it couldn't be the real thing: those twin exhaust pipes! Twin exhaust systems didn't exist in the 1930s. I would recommend keeping the dual exhaust, but chopping one of the pipes so it appears that there is only one pipe. Then you could put one of these replicas in a film set in the '30s.

Suffolk R.I.P - 1995-2020 - unfortunately the company producing the parts for this replica has been forced into liquidation by Jaguar. As mentioned in this Video the production of the the parts for this replica where so good and so accurate, that even restorators bought these parts to restore original cars. I understand Jaguar has an interest in protecting their intellectual property. However what i don't understand is that there was no possibility to get to terms with licensing. This was a fun car, bought mostly by Jag-Enthusiasts. In no case this had any impact on any sales by Jaguar - if not even promoted the Marque to people seeing these cars on the road. The original SS100 are so rare you never ever get any chance seeing one. In any way I think Jaguar destroying this company did nothing good for the community and nothing good for their own brand and nothing good to all the restorations pending out there. So for a legal cause it has produced nothing but loosers. A shame!

I absolutely agree with you! Jaguar have shot themselves in their own foot. As a current model Jaguar owner since 1965 up to current time, I am disgusted by what they have done to Suffolk who promoted the brand name and who were true Jaguar enthusiasts. Actually they still are, as they have resurrected themselves as Suffolk Classic Services. Up yours Jaguar - Petty minded tyrants!
