Every year more and more good creators will Go, because they can't compete with all the low-quality maps that made by money hungry people, that using unfair tricks that work well on the Fortnite Comunity, because the biggest part of the Fortnite players are young kids.

I've been playing Fortnite since February 2020 and I truly enjoyed the game until Chapter 4 began and things slowly started dwindling as the game became more of an advertisement than usual and current day I can't even get myself to play it anymore since it's just a job to at this point and clearly all they care about is money and more so than usual because the quality of the game has been dwindling really bad, I'm as against the metaverse as I possibly can be because I witnessed that concept ruin a game I love over the course of a year and drive away the CCO to leave the company making the game get even worse.

I felt the way you feel now, starting in Chapter 2. In Chapter 1, collabs were a rare thing, as they should be. Once they started throwing collabs in the Battle Pass, I knew things were going downhill. It's only gotten worse and worse since.

Kids do. Just be around them for some time, and you’ll see how addictive some titles and specific characters can be. Quite frequently, that’s literally the only thing they can talk about, and do so for a very long time. Just find the recent unexplainable craze (from recent times, it’s been Poppy Playtime and Huggy Wuggy specifically). Kids KZbin “mashups” shed some light on that, as they just take a bunch of most popular characters, put them together with no connection whatsoever, and just reap the profits. Huggy Wuggy, Sonic and Spider-Man go to backrooms. Does it make sense to you? I assume it doesn’t. And it shouldn’t. Because it’s just kids’ favorite characters together, and that’s all there is to it. And Disney knows it better than anybody.

It's really fun to rep other characters in a game, especially characters who don't have a shooter game or a game at all to play as them in. It's easier to play in a crossover than expect shooter games for a ton of different franchises to fulfill a desire.

I liked it before everything became separate. Back when the Zero Point (Named because it's 0,0 or the center of reality) was on the island and we had to protect it at all costs (These new villains just aren't scary now. Like, who cares if this island gets taken over it's just another island). Back when collabs were because of it glitching out due to "destabilization" and bringing people and objects from other realities to the island. Now collabs don't make sense; the Zero Point is somewhere out in space and we're in one of many realities (As shown in The Big Bang) so why are characters from other worlds getting trapped in the loop? No explanation, and there likely won't be. There used to be a reason for collabs and it added depth to the story and made it an interesting concept, now collabs feel like "Because Epic wanted it to". Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival and BR are all separate realities yet there's no explanation how we're getting between them. Not even like a rift animation going from the lobby into whatever mode. Combined with the generic UI and other things the game feels so corporate now instead of unique and fun. I feel like I'm biding my time in modes like Reload until the game becomes something it probably won't ever become again. There's so much untapped potential for this game that it's sad to see how they squandered a perfect concept. When will they learn that happy customers stay longer and buy more. Until then it seems November will be Fortnite player's favorite month as that's when they do OG seasons.

Sherlock Holmes appears in so much media, that it's a common mistake to think that he was a historical character rather than a fictional one. Once a character, a thing, transcends it's media it becomes 'sorta real'. Making digital goods interchangeable between platforms will add value cause they would be seen as a real good rather than a fictional one.

I think as far as fictional characters go, at least the way I perceive them is as entities of a separate world rather than something or someone that does not exist. I believe a lot of people subconsciously see characters in such a way, especially very popular and live action characters because of the actors that play them.

I have a feeling the modes were in slow production and he was fine with that but Sweeney started pushing him to put the modes out fast when Epic got in financial trouble last year. When he left, Sweeney had control and chose to sacrifice BR to speed up his Metaverse, which hasn't been welcomed by the players.

I know this comment is very long but if you read it, it will be worth your time. The problem with Epic's Metaverse lies in that they can't upkeep it. That's why Rocket League and Racing are receiving almost nothing and why BR quality dropped this year. They don't have enough employees to run these modes consistently and so by stretching themselves thin, no mode is getting enough attention and everybody's upset. A lot of people forget how much work goes into the developmental process of games and if you compare the amount of content to other multi-billion dollar companies you'll find that Epic is actually doing a good job (As much as I hate to admit it). Minecraft gets little updates here and there and like 1 mob a year. Meanwhile Epic makes a whole new season and whole new features on a quarterly basis (Yes they're all made a year in advance but they're made to be quarterly meaning they're still rushing, just a year in advance) as well as running 3 other modes and adding new features and passes to them. The fact that they can consistently release say, ten skins per month is insane compared to other games where a new type of troop takes like a year (Looking at you Clash of Clans). Not to mention that using UE5 means they're making these objects and characters incredibly clear and detailed. It's honestly amazing what they can do it's just that their resources are poorly allocated. Things like a UI update shouldn't take but like, a month if they focused on it, but instead they're: Signing collabs deals with Disney for BR, other companies as well, artists for Jam Tracks and Icon Emotes, making Lego styles, making cars from Rocket League (UE3) in Fortnite (UE5), making new skins, weapons, features, etc. and letting what should be quick and simple that matters to a lot of people slip. It all stems from a lack of communication. I wouldn't mind less features for a month if they said out loud "We're taking this month to work on behind the scenes features for the game so there may not be much new this month". I would support that. But instead they just go silent on you and abandon important features to work on things nobody asked for. When will Epic learn that happy customers play longer and spend more?

Yeah maybe second season is not the best, but the first and third season are muuuch better and much more fun to play! Personally I think Fortnite official modes should each have its own launcher and the maps created by people should be be part of a Fortnite Creative launcher. The way they try to bring it all together is just chaotic. As for collabs, well mostly it is cosmetics that are destroying the videogame industry. I don't know what this metaverse thing is supposed to be or if it will somehow succeed in its goals, but I will say that I am a bit fascinated by the type of game development that can be done within Roblox and now more interestingly Fortninte. While I'm certain there are some awful terms of service attached to it, it's still cool that people can use and learn what is essentially a diet version of UE5 to create all kinds of what are essentially mods of Fortnite and have them be played by the millions of people that play Fortnite. It makes me wonder if someone for an example has tried to turn the game into a more traditional shooter (without the BR element) with any degree of success, as that would make the game infinitely more interesting to me as a certified battle royale hater. It even makes me wonder if it would be a good platform to just prototype game ideas on the whole.

Actually, rocket league had trading in the game, the whole community loved that an that was a big reason the community stuck around. Epic removed it, promised they would be able to bring over "all" cosmetics from the rocket league pass ( whixh has 100 tiers, an 100 cosmetics in each pass) into rocket racing in forntite, an then fumbled an did t deliver in what they promised. The rocket league community also wanted, wants a actual racing mode in rocket league, an j stead epic put it in fortnite. So, epic made false promises, took away what the rocket league community liked alot about the game ( trading) an gave the mode community wanted to fortnite players instead of them. . . Also, while doing all that, theu continue to push 60 to 70 lego skins every single update. While the rocket racing, ricket league communities continue to just get maybe 5 to 6 cosmetics per update brought over to fortnite if were lucky. All so epic could jeep rheor agreement with lego to make sure they get their money ( epic I mean) Ya epics dirty, killing off not one but 2 parts of it gaming communities just to make a buck an not even caring what everyone thinks about it. The rocket league pass is a part of the crew pass too. An were all supposed to get to bring that over to fortnite cause that was the gurantee epic made to the rocket league community when trading was taken away. But epic doesn't fulfill that obligation either. So essentially we're all paying for rocket league pass but not getting the full value of ehat we all should be getting. For now, it's just the smaller parts of the overall community, but when it hits the fan, an trust me it will, then the overall community will rise up an take note. Just need something like lego or festival to be majorly effected for people to take notice I guess. It will happen. Sooner or later. I'm not saying epics not good at putting put content, it's just how theu go about doing it that concerns me. Especially if the trend continues. If Epic ever wants/wanted to create a platform of thousands of games made by different IPs then they have to make an example. This is what's happening: In order for there to be a Metaverse they have to get companies (With their own employees) interested in making games inside of Fortnite (E.G. a TMNT game made, run and updated by Nickelodeon employees completely independent of Epic; like Creative maps). First, however, they have to show those companies that it's a worthwhile investment that will make money. Lego is the investment strategy. They offered to run, update, and manage Lego Fortnite for the Lego company in exchange for rights to the IP. Their hope is this: If they can get Lego off the ground and popular, then they can use it as an example of an IP that has nothing to do with Fortnite making a game that has nothing to do with Fortnite, in Fortnite and making money. This will be an example they can show investors and say "See, if you make your game in Fortnite then it will be successful! The Fortnite player base is open to new games from independent companies so come release your game in Fortnite today!" Once that's done, other companies will make their games in Fortnite; once it's making passive income with no effort (Like Roblox) and then making controversial decisions in BR like this season's cars won't be devastating should the player base hate it. It's a brilliant marketing strategy, the only problem is that Fortnite players are not receptive to a Metaverse so it will never take off and they're killing their active fanbase in the meantime. The other problem is that what I just said isn't their plan, once they're making passive income, they intend to drop BR (I'm willing to bet) which will sadly, be the end of Fortnite for many like us. We need somebody to stop this train-wreck that Tim Sweeney has planned for this game and get us back on the BR focused track. *Everything here was only a theory and has not been said, confirmed, deconfirmed or otherwise - it's just what I think they're doing

I've spent more money on the epic games store than on the fortnite. I wish they put all the skins up. I would have spent more money that way.

Why not? They completely ruined the game, i’m sorry you prefer Fortnite to be a big sellout, but Donald mustard knew what the fans wanted, he fit a cartoon shooter, lore, and collaborations together perfectly. Tim Sweeney completely ruined it by making the game a metaverse.
