I'm retired, not Delta (UA actually) and this is the epitome of professionalism. Kudos. Perfectly done, almost sounded like a simulator scenario, but real. That's why we train so hard.

👍 Thank you.

I love that Departure ATC, unlike many others he didn't let his own anxiety to help cause him to innundate the pilots with unnecessary chatter. That's about as concise emergency comms I've ever heard. Well done all.

All you ATP’s out there, I have a question: Why do pilots prefer “delay vectors” instead of a hold at a point? In my view, an FMS hold would take away a LOT of tasks/work versus having to listen for your call sign for different headings, altitudes, MVA’s, etc. A hold would allow the autopilot to keep you safe in one spot, at or above MSA, so the crew could focus on Checklists, troubleshooting, etc. Any info/ideas/opinions anyone could provide?

737-800 JFK-SAN why would they use that variant
@wingmantx Жыл бұрын
Probably mainly due to volume, They use 767-300 from JFK to LAX (similar distance) 767, A350 goes oversea, 757 routes are based off Atlanta.

It should also be noted that there are currently 5 slightly different versions of the Delta 737-800 interior flying around right now. This aircraft has what I refer to as the “slightly old but passable” interior, which includes no head rests but does have the larger screens. If you’ve flown on one of the ones with the dreadful 7 inch screens, you’ll know what I mean😂

@djijspeakerguy46283 ай бұрын
@@jameshonore1072 I have gotten them twice on 4 hour flights: from Seattle to Chicago and back, respectively Of those flights, they were broken on the outbound flight. You might think it’s lucky I always get a window seat, except it was also a nighttime flight☹️ Luckily, I’m going on the exact same route today and I looked up the tail number. It’s this exact airframe, hence why I found this video. Because of the bird strike it’s probably got a new engine, too! I consider that lucky.

I’m booked on DL1578 today, and I see it’s scheduled to use this airframe. This actually makes me feel a little better knowing one of the engines is probably brand new. Bird strikes happen, and it’s not the aircraft’s fault, besides an aircraft from 1999 will already have shown any quality control issues by now. I’m in good hands.
