BMW 4 Series - Full Details

The new 2021-2022 BMW 4 Series Coupé was developed with the aim of redefining the essence of driving pleasure in the premium midsize segment. Its aura of athleticism and exclusivity sees it following in the BMW brand’s coupé tradition - shaped by a succession of legendary sporting machines - which now stretches back almost 90 years. The makeup of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé range reflects the emphasis placed on dynamic potency in the car’s conception.
At market launch in October 2020, the BMW M440i xDrive Coupé - powered by a 374 horsepower (275 kW) 6-cylinder in- line petrol engine - will take its place at the top of the range. It will be joined initially by a pair of 4-cylinder petrol engines and a 4-cylinder diesel. The plan is then for two 6-cylinder in-line diesel engines to be added to the line-up in March 2021, and the more powerful of these two units will be fitted in another BMW M model.
The new BMW 4 Series Coupé will be built at BMW Plant Dingolfing.

But I remember when the 4 series initially came out & it overtook the a5 and the c class, & then in 2016 the new c class came out and overtook the 4 series, this new 4 series hasn’t had the same effect unfortunately, the C class still looks better

kumar குமார் my father owned a ‘74 2002. Don’t try and come for me. The kidney grill is a staple of BMW. You know it’s a BMW as soon as you see it. The new kidney grill on this 4 series is over sized and distracts you from the rest of the car. Please don’t try the whole “you kids generation” bit because it got so old, so quick.

I know that most people say they don’t like the grille but I can’t help but think this makes the 3 series resale value drop like a rock. I can’t imagine the 3 update not including this grill.

Finally BMW showing some balls with bold and aggressive design. Of course not everyone is gonna like it. There are some elements of very old tradition and some elements of more recent tradition that are changed. I remember when people reacted badly to the E60 5 series and how different it was to anything else in the BMW lineup at the time (and since tbh). People either criticize BMW for being too conservative or too bold. There is never pleasing everyone. I was a little bit critical of the new 3 series when it came out first last year. But I have grown to like it since then, especially since I saw it in person. I like this 4 series from the start. Usually modern designs, especially those from BMW, look even better in person. I applaud BMW for going balls out on this design. 👏

I’ve owned 5 different BMW’s. I loved them. However, in the last 5 - 8 years they have really lost their way in styling. To me they look like a high end Toyota. Just my opinion. I love the way they drive & I really hope they return to their roots in styling (The Classic 1070’s 2002, the 1980’s 635csi, 1998 750i with a V12, the 2000 M5...... ) I’d love to get another one but the style just doesn’t connect with me right now...

I'm looking for some cabrio for my girl and I was really hoping that concept for new 4 was just a crazy idea. In my case BMW boost sale for Mercedes, as most propably I'll go for E class. Overall the car is very nice, I just can't stand this grill.
