Hero clips come in clutch!! Awesome video Bo! If a bag is not already weather treated then the spray is also a solid upgrade too!

I had a topo designs bag and after that I starting putting paracord pulls with heatshrink tubes on all my bags. Makes it way easier to manage. I’ve been meaning to find a good tailor or carpenter that can replace my plastic buckles with fidlocks.

That light looks like a really good item! I love that it charges with USB-C. Good job EU for going to a one charging port policy.
@Youknowthebo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, moving to one connector is great. But I honestly dislike usbc a lot. It's very fragile, and I already have a few devices with very loose ports to which the cables won't hold properly.
@tams8052 жыл бұрын
@@Youknowthebo Yeah, it's not great, but is there a better port? MicroB was even more fragile and Lightning is very exposed on the plug side (plus nasty fees required to Apple to use it).

I honestly would have stuck with a USB a Form factor. Maybe that is also reversable. USB a has a lot of physical size to be durable and "grippy" while not being too big Imho. At least for hard drives etc I think this is the better connector. For phones this obviously is too big. But I don't mind having two connectors moving everything to one connector isn't a good solution Imho. Different horses for different courses 😉

The slash pocket in goruck bags are super deep and therefor usable with a pouch, but not with loose items. My fix? Halfway I added a strip of velcro tape to un-deepen the pack. It can still be velcro’d open, but also if you would like to use it for keys or other quick access items. It now works as well. Really nice simple adjustment this velcro-tape, super happy I stumbled onto this idea through reddit
@Youknowthebo2 жыл бұрын
That's an awesome mod. How did you attach the velcro inside? Sewing in that pocket might be really difficult

One mod I do if my bag doesn't have a elastic band to keep the shoulder adjuster straps from flapping around is use zip ties or the plastic cable ties to secure them to the other strap, hate them flapping around on a motorcycle or bicycle, LOL I'm bicycling more since I don't have a motorcycle or car right now and its good cross training for my running.
@Youknowthebo2 жыл бұрын
Zip ties are the best 👍

In all honesty, when I originally bought it, it was to sit on a watchstrap to utilise at nighttime, but… It was a bit too bulky for that… so it lasted less than five minutes and at the time, I’d just got a new bag… so I thought I’d put it on that instead.

Try this lights they are more versatile, have greater visibility at night - GUARDIAN ANGEL ELITE or GUARDIAN ANGEL MICRO. Have you tried waterproofing 1000d GR1 or 500D ? What are your thoughts on sternum strap with cobra buckle? Thanks

How well does waterproofing spray work in heavy rain? I’m guessing water would eventually get in, especially on a motorcycle?
@Youknowthebo2 жыл бұрын
Waterproofing spray (as far as I know) has some repellent properties plus "fills up" those microscopic gaps in fabrics. So it does help keeping water out for some time. But with winds on highways or prolonged rain, water will get inside eventually. Nothing is waterproof Imho just because water can get through gaps or seams eventually. Those Ortlieb bags are waterproof because there is almost no seam at all and everything is "glued" (not sure about the correct term) together and it has a rolltop closing. So long story short: waterproofing spray helps but is unfortunately not a 100% solution for those extreme rain situations
