HOW I REVIEW:
As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.
AFFILIATE LINKS:
No matter if I like or dislike a product, I want to make it easy for you to check out the product yourself. Therefore I include a link of the productpage. Had this for a couple of years. I use the expandable portion to carry either a thermal water bottle or my Leica protect with a wrap.

Just bought a sling and am now mad that I just saw this. This is the most coolest and decked-out sling bag I've ever seen!

OK, I'm already a fanboy of their EVO bigger sling that I also use with the harness strap and a laptop sleeve when needed. That bag is so versatile I cannot describe it well enough! I use it to commute with, for travels, when working/performing live (musician...) and in many other situations. The reason I'll be getting the little brother X-Pod II is that the EVO can simply be too big in some situations. For the stage as an example, as a sling at the gym or on airplanes, that's where I'd need the same functionality as the EVO, only smaller. So watching your review convinced me it's gonna be a great choice. Thanks Bo! P.S. I'd always put my slim camera (Fuji X70) in the "admin" part as you call it, and the expandable part will keep stuff that's soft and "compresseable", since it, as you stated yourself, opens from the body. I have loads of experience from using the EVO's expandable part.

I have a X-Pod. It's one of the only backpacks I own that I didn't buy specifically because it was recommended by Bo. I use the compression straps to carry my kids jackets. The straps are especially useful since you don't have as much interior space as you would with a back pack. The only downside is if you leave them unconnected, they can fall off. I had to replace one I lost on a trip to Oregon. I never pack my own stuff with the bag expanded but it's helpful for stuff you didn't plan to have to carry. It's not ideal as Bo points out but nice to have when you need it.

I’ve had this bag for a couple of years now and i have tried numerous times to like it. Every so often i try it again but i find it uncomfortable. I find that it tilts away from my body especially when i tighten the compression on the sides. Even though i really dont like using it i do find it hard to get rid of. Thanks Bo.

I've had this bag for years. Haven't used the expanding part often. The external straps have been really useful to strap my umbrella to on those occasions where I carry one.

I gotta say, after years of watching Bo, you really are a breath of fresh air... in so many ways. Your reviews aren't perfect.. I do with they were more snappy and had a bit less repetition and just extra stuff, and I wish they were more frequent.. but I understand your situation since COVID etc a lot has changed. I wish you would do more product types too, like even games and things.. I think you have so much value to add and such a good way of presenting and shooting and producing your videos but I understand that having all your income come from YT isn't for everyone.. and it's a massive grind and involves a lot of luck. But just thought I'd share my 2c as always.

Thank you very much. Appreciate the honest feedback. I want to do more different videos as well. Which is why I started the second channel. It's not as polished, but there I have short vlogs, movie reviews but also occasional game reviews (eg Hogwarts legacy and monkey Island).

@@guillaumeraux the easiest and most non invasive mod i did was just fold the expanding pocket up instead of down. It helps with alignment (makes everything work in a straight plane) and it improves fit tremendously to the point where i rarely use the compression straps anymore.second mod i did was to fix the excess length of the two compression straps by using velcro cable organizer and tucking the end to the garter strap keepers they have (i removed the plastic ones cause they were useless and tend to slip)third was to sew one side of the main strap so that the buckle remains on the center of the torso while allowing one side of the main strap to have the ability to loosen tighten and last was more of a comfort mod in which i added a small patch of rectangle loop backing on the back of the wing pocket pieces then mated it with an orbitgear pad 02 shoulder pad (sleeved it through the main strap then attached the hook backing to the loop backing i attached to the sling) adds comfort when i need to carry a water bottle or a big battery bank or both) you can see the sling in its modded state on my ig sir if youd like . I'm looking for a sling/bag I can run to the gym with (couple miles) - and carry a water bottle, keys, wallet, phone, perhaps a t shirt/shorts. Would you recommend the bag for this use case: exercising while carrying the above contents? Or would it move around too much? Thanks!
@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo 10 ай бұрын
Slingbags tend to be a bit annoying when running in my experience. However, the new version of the Xpod has a second stabilizer strap that should keep the slingbag in place when running.
@Haze0808
@Haze0808 5 ай бұрын
@@wifflekking ive run with mine a few times (mostly sprints and hikes ) and for me when one end of the main strap is secured (clipped or sewn) it allows the bag to sit better on torso when used with the folded up orientation of the main expanding pocket. The sling out of alignment (folded down) tends to lean and move away from the torso despite you cinching tje main straps tight
