Hi Bo - Great content. Have been following your channel for years. I really appreciate your balanced point of view on the product. This is an interesting bag. There are not that many totes in the world. I have been using the Terg-Allway Square for about 10 years. The problem with the Terg and the LBB Transition is the width of the bag. They are optimized for backpack carry. A tote should be a bit wider to accommodate the packing of clothes into the bag. I like to use this type of bag for business travel. Also used a Briggs and Reiley tote for a while. I would like to see a tote around 430mm (17 inches) wide - See Away - Bally - Dunhill - LL Bean. I am always on the lookout for a really square tote. Just my two cents. Again - Thank you for the great content.

Thank you for this review. Why are there so few reviews of LBB bags? Looks like they have quality stuff and the team there does a good job explaining their products. But, it’s always nice to hear what others have to say. I have been looking at the transition-tote for a while and may pull the trigger. I love the versatility plus it serves as a nice companion as a personal item when flying that will also protect my computer.

I love tote bags for its ease of access. Having a tote with a rolltop access kinda defeats that. Love the tote profile on this bag though. Looks killer.

good point. But to be fair: The rolltop part isn't as big as that it would get in your way.

I have this bag actually in multicam , and the par i dislike the most is how thin (both horizontally and thickness wise " the shoulder strap is

Might be my favorite bag right now, nitpicks aside. I wish the backpack straps could be hidden using a similar pocket or system to other totepacks, I agree that the transition between pack and tote modes is rather annoying/finicky. Because of this, I actually tend to carry it in a sling style using a peak design slide strap I have sitting around. Other than that I think it's a really cool bag and a great value for the quality of the materials and construction!

Yeah, It's definitely a cool and well made bag. THanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

I was always interested in this one, the shipping to the US always deterred me, and its a smidge smaller than what I find useful (I like bigger bags).

Yeah, international shipping is a pain. I can totally relate.

Is there a concern for longevity for those loops where the straps go through? Looks like it's just webbing with a stitch... If that fails, the bags done. Iyswim.

I'm not 100% sure which part you are referring to. Can you elaborate before I can answer your question

@Youknowthebo I can try.. lol. When you pull the back pack straps up to transition to tote, the straps pass through and under a piece of webbing stitched across the back panel. You show it closer when you're explaining what happens if you don't pull the straps down evenly. The little plastic stopper passes through the webbing and it looks like the webbing is stitched with just a single row either side. Then in the footage when you 'one shouldered' the bag, it looked to be putting a great deal of stress on that webbing and the stitches. (Most backpacks the shoulder straps are stitched to the back panel and body of the bag mkingnthem stronger. The transition tote can't do that or it wouldn't transition when you pulled up..)

I do get messenger to backpack conversion but does anyone has a good argument for backpack to tote bag? When would you want to use it in tote bag mode?
@Youknowthebo9 күн бұрын
I use the totebag mode a lot when I only have to walk short distances or take it out of the car. Not necessarily "just" to carry it in one hand, but also to hang it on one shoulder. Opposed to carrying a backpack one sling style, carrying a totebag on one shoulder means that it lays basically underneath your armpit between your arm and your body. And depending on your size and the contents inside this can actually be quite comfortable for carrying. Not for long distances but on a commute in the subway or walking from car to office for example. Also then it is easier to manouver inside a packed subway compared to the backpack on your back

@Youknowthebo thanks for taking the time to explain. I think I just don't relate as for me it feels more comfortable to have it on one shoulder sling style if I don't wear it as a backpack, but obviously everybody is different and I know have your perspective on it so thanks again!

This bag is giving off Wandrd Prvke vibes, no? Rolltop, water bottle pocket, long grab handles, ability to attach pouches to the front, ...

I kinda see what you are saying. but having them here side by side there are huge differences. But I get what you mean with the "vibe"
