What I loved about the DmC Vergil was that his complete playstyle was centered around the Yamato, his signature sword. One of my favorite techniques was the one named 'Divorce', a three-heavy-strike combination used to break shields.

dmc 4 might still be my bias favorite DMC because its the first one i played and the setting/story were just a bit more fun for me but dmc 5 vergil is defenitely the strongest and best to play although the one thing dmc 4 does better than 5 for vergil is his spiral blades. they felt like they had more force in dmc4 due to the small addition of the shaking when you let them fire

The Impact on the blades is definitely missed. They even create sonic shockwaves as they take off. It's felt and looked really strong. kinda wild that detail slipped by them. DMC4 easily had the best art direction of any DMC. I don't know if it was budget or what, but a chunk of DMC5's levels are that ugly ass tree and random spots in the city. No Huge castles, No cathedrals or forested/Snowy areas.

DMC was simply not in a good state when DMC4 came out. Plus Itsuno had insisted at the time that DMC2 was the last game in the series, chronologically. To him, there wasn't really anywhere for them to move forward

They fundamentally misunderstood the visual language of Vergil in the reboot. When he does it judgements cut in the reboot, he points his sword at spot he cuts like he's casting a spell or something. In reality, Vergil is cutting through time and space so fast that he can direct his slashes to any space in front of him. They tell two different stories. One is Harry Potter magic horseshit, the other is Vergil's careful mastery of his demonic heritage plus his skill as a master swordsman. I don't know how they could FUCK UP that badly.

the character design comparison is ruined by the fact they're not using the default skin for Vergil. I know what the default skin looks like for all of Vergil's appearances but not all viewers will.

I think DmC 2013 is too overhated because the gameplay or story isn't that bad at all. and the characters like Dante and Vergil to me are very good-looking. but at the same time I can't really tell if it's bad or not because it's the only DmC game I grew up with.

It's a fine video game, but they fucked up in their marketing and also showed an inability to read the room when people criticized them. You can just compare DmC Vergil's animations to his Capcom counterparts. His animations in 3, 4, and 5 all have a similar story to tell about him, his backstory, and how he's able to cut through time and space like he can. His Reboot counterpart just looks like he's a sluggish wizard casting spells or something.

Out of all the DMC games there, I think the reboot is my personal favorite. I know it isn't what the DMC playerbase expected but c'mon, you gotta admit that, even though the characters may seem "weaker", the reboot deserves as much respect as every other DMC game. I also believed that DMC5 also got some of its inspiration from the reboot, mostly revolving around Vergil's doppelganger.

@@qazweriopkoilj u need to time the rest of the Judgement cuts. Just when u release the first cut hold down immediately and then release it with timing. Remember that holding down is not the key factor but releasing it is key factor.

There is something about the DMC4 Vergil I really like a lot.. Maybe just the fact that he had a story before the DMC3 events, the fact that he was very young and unaware oof Dante's existence yet. I would love to see a full DMC4 Vergil story. That was the time, before life for Vergil became very prison like, in the hands of Mundus - post DMC3. DMC4 Vergil timeline, so before 3, there he is more in his philosophical mind. If Vergil would have not became a slave to mounds, of would not go insane in DMC3, I believe Vergil would be an very intellectual person.

His primary ranged attack in his last battle is magically conjured spectral swords that he generates out of thin air to flank Dante, and he's had that power even since before becoming Nelo. Have you played _any_ DMC game before 5?

i didnt like 4, Dante felt a bit weak but playing with nero felt much better. When SE came out, vergil was so op, but blitz still whooping my ass and forcing me to stop having fun. biggsest asshole enemy including all bossbattles in all of dmc.

Blitz is a cakewalk for vergil. With vergil just use a judgment cut end or use summoned swords the blistering swords move twice to take down blitz's lightning shield in an instant. And after that just use vergil's beowulf uppercut attack and u are done. Easy peasy. On top of that if u can use Dt distortion (it's a mechanic in dmc4) u can one shot blitz.
