I'll take unique! Having produced all of the Final Destination movies, I appreciate you taking the time to react. And you are correct -- there IS a continuity error with the bus gag. The construction equipment you saw in the earlier shot was actually the crane holding up the 40x40 silk we were using that day to both even out the light and provide rain cover -- it was randomly pissing rain the entire day! Thanks again for the entertaining review.

This movie started out as an unused script for an episode of “The X-Files.” In that script, Scully’s brother would have been the one who had the premonition on the plane. A lot of the cast and crew of this film worked on “X-Files,” including the writer and director.

the "mouse trap" kinda cause and effect things are usually called "rube goldberg machines" for the cartoonist who used to make little comic strips of those kinds of absurd complications that did something really simple at the end. for me, the most memorable moment is the scene at the airport. just SOOOOOO well done. - stiffler looks back to see the two being bulled apart. turns back to the window. - the plane explodes in the b.g. - stiffler starts reacting and just starts to try to get everyone's reactions - the shockwave from the explosion finally hits and smashes out the window WOW! just the fact that they got the physics of that so correct - that you'd see it before you felt or heard it... although that explosion is ridiculously OVERPOWERED! you'd need like a thousand pound bomb or something to go off at that distance to blow out the glass at an airport.

I.E. he has the ability to detect when someone was going to die or detect when someone escaped death. as well as have a complete understanding of how death works. and it makes sense that if azrael were to come down to earth for some reason he would pick a profession that envolved death in one way or another. a mortician, groundskeeper at a cemetry etc

It's funny cause Chad Donella who's in this is in Saw 7, which also has Dean Armstrong who's in Wrong Turn 4. 3/4 of the zeros main pie. The other piece being Hatchet.

This one is one of my favorites. The creativity involved is astounding. When you think about it, all the other slashers and killers in horror: Freddy, Jason, Michael, Jigsaw, Hannibal Lecter, those guys all essentially work for Death Itself. It’s their boss; every life they take, for whatever their motivations, they are enacting Death’s will as it’s avatars, one way or another. So when Death Itself actually gets involved like it does in these movies, it makes even those guys, who are pros, look like amateurs. That scene after the plane where Alex is looking out his window and he sees the lightning striking the ground, it was supposed to look like a hand pointing a finger at him, like cosmic forces were conspiring against him and letting him know that he’s marked, but they couldn’t get the effect right and so it barely looked like a hand at all. The movies that follow do a better job at stuff like that, because they got better budgets. You will like this series; the 3rd movie in particular is absolutely VICIOUS!

What makes this special against all horror movies (that I'm aware of) is that there's no actual enemy. There's no-one you can "kill" and "win". You're fighting against fate itself. Now, sure, you cannot *really* kill Freddy, or Jason, or Michael, or whathaveyou. Not *really* (even if there's some scheme/means/procedure/ritual in some installment of the requisite franchise, you then learn in the sequel (of course there's one) that it either didn't *really* work for some (unexplained) reason or Michael, Jason, Freddy found some way to *still* come back) Here, you *cannot* kill the enemy. You can just try to avoid dying as long as possible, but death *is* inevitable (anyway, even if you die of old age).

One of my favourite movie franchises. This is fun! I just wish this was remade into TV so they explain the world better. Like who Tony T's character is or how the MCs get the visions, or what this Death entity really is

I enjoyed this movie. I had an overwhelming crush on Devon Sawa (Alex) and Kerr Smith (Carter). The deal with this I went and saw it in the theater in week 2 or 3. I remember movie critics hated this movie, but when I watched this movie for the 1st time, I would never read or watch movie reviews before I would go and watch a movie. All the Final Destination movies with the exception of the 4th one was very underscored for what they were. It was a very solid franchise and movie critics should just state they do not like cinematic horror.

2 and 3 are my personal favorites. I think this franchise is popular because it hits that sweet spot particular to horror fans : A balance between a large dose of familiarity in each installment , mixed with just enough of a new twist each time to be satisfying. Plus , the fact that it ends up having a sensible , overarching philosophy in the series as a whole.

I like part 3 the best. Mary Elizabeth Winsted is amazing. One thing I never liked about this franchise, they never explained why these people get these visions. Part 3 was the last one I saw. Have you two seen the Paranormal Activity films? That's my favorite horror franchise.

The main blonde kid is Devon Sawa.. the first film I saw of his was an older 90s film called "Wild America" also with Johnathon Taylor Thomas. He was also in a more recent film from a couple years ago called "Escape Plan 3.. very good one as well I think.

For me Tod's death was the best and the worst at the same time 😅 . It wasn't so brutal, but it was painful to watch , because he died so slowly in the bathtub. That's never good when you are suffering. I like that new camera angle and the new studio room looks so good. 😀

John Denver died on the afternoon of October 12, 1997, when his light home-built aircraft, a Rutan Long-EZ with registration number N555JD, crashed into Monterey Bay near Pacific Grove, California, while making a series of touch-and-go landings at the nearby Monterey Peninsula Airport. He was the plane's only occupant. The official cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma resulting from the crash.

I went to London and Paris on a school trip just a few months before this movie came out. They only allowed you to go if you had good grades and never got in trouble. (Tho for some classmates that meant they never got caught, including me). It was still chaos. One girl lost her group on our free day in Paris (found her way to the restaurant that night) and another lost his passport so he had to visit the embassy. They also overbooked our flight home so a chaperone and a few students took a later flight.

After seeing this in a theater, I walked out of the building and climbed down a flight of ice covered slippery concrete steps. Then I walked across the parking lot toward my car. There was a semi truck idling nearby, pointing directly toward my car. Nothing happened of course. And in most circumstances I would have hardly noticed those things. I certainly wouldn’t remember them now. But after watching a movie like this, things like that stick in your mind.
