Remember that in The Raid 2 there will be an actor that dies in The Raid 1 but it will be a whole other character. This was confusing for a lot of people they thought that this character survived by absolute bs but this is just a different character played by the same actor, keep that in mind when you'll see him.

Fun Fact: The main actor and Maddog have cameos is The Force Awakens as gangsters, and I got so excited we’d see them do some cool kung-fu fights, a little bummed we didn’t lol

The director of this & the sequel, Gareth Evans also produced a tv show called ''Gangs of London'', which is equally hyper violent. Imagine ''Peaky Blinders'' but set in modern day London, with all kinds of criminal factions fighting for power in the underworld & lots of violent action scenes. There's a shootout on a farmhouse in episode 5, which is absolutely insane. Evans also made a movie starring Tom Hardy called ''Havoc'' for Netflix, 3 years ago, but for some reason is hasn't been released yet. Nobody knows what happened and why Netflix doesn't releases it.

10:50 Because of equipment issues, they couldn't film this in slow motion, so the actor mimed it (the slow speed you see in the movie is how slowly he was actually moving in real life), and they added the slow muzzle blast in post production.

A friend of mine is a Silat instructor (the martial art used in this movie) its insane and very tough with lots of knife work

Made by a Welshman whom married his Indonesian wife that he met at Cardiff university. They decided that Wales was not a top area for an action movie director, so they moved to Indonesia instead. The martial art is called Pencak Silat which is the art of lethal strikes using elbows and knees. Somehow The Raid 2 is even more violent (and brilliant). More from this great director - Apostle (movie) V/H/S/ 2 (short movie) and Gangs of London (TV show) all of which are mind blowing. Evans' use of camera angles and camera movements in fight scenes will be replicated as soon as everyone can catch up.

The greatest martial arts movies of all time. After seeing these movies it’s hard to watch the average kung fu flick. I watched both in the theaters. The sequel being one of my favorite theater experiences. Even with there only being like 10 ppl in the theater lol

There's an XKCD comic where a character describes his idea for the perfect action film - about a minute of plot and the entire rest of the film is one long fight scene. It's a joke, but The Raid is about as close as any film could get to fitting that description while still actually being good. It's a few minutes of story to explain why there are fight scenes, or to let the pace change to prevent things from getting exhausting or introduce suspense, and then it's insanely skilled Indonesian stuntmen and martial artists absolutely wrecking each other all the way down.

To quote South Park, The Raid 2 is bigger, longer & uncut 😅 You should def watch it, it's a direct continuation of the story and they expand on pretty much everything. The Raid 2 has easily some of the best stunts I've ever seen in a movie, not to mention that final boss fight scene. Omg! And that's all I'll say about it for now. Regarding Mad Dog in the sequel.... 😅
