Young Chang was the largest piano builder in the world and has produced pianos for Yamaha and Steinway. While they are known for manufacturing high-quality Asian production pianos, concert grand pianos, by their nature, are hand-built pianos since they are made in limited numbers and showcase the highest quality production possible.
Young Chang has two factories, one in Incheon, South Korea, and one in Tianjin, China. Pianos bearing the Young Chang and Weber names are made in China, and pianos produced in the South Korean factory are currently branded Albert Weber. This piano was made in their South Korean factory.
This piano features a full German Renner action and has the highest quality components throughout, including a AAA grade solid spruce soundboard. The tone is rich, with long tone life and even sound throughout all registers. It is an excellent scale design and features exceptionally high quality of manufacturing. It is also in virtually new condition.
We have had the opportunity to audition countless concert grand pianos, and everyone who has played this instrument has been taken with its sound and action, which are top-notch. I have played some Young Chang pianos that were quite fine. I have seen a few that were neglected and got really bright and could have been wonderful pianos again with a little TLC. I have been surprised with the build quality and features on the pianos consistent with higher end Asian pianos although they don't always get that recognition.

I have had experience with two different Young Chang pianos. Both were smaller instruments and in a small and a medium sized church. I was impressed and surprised at the warmth of their tone. It was far warmer than the tone of some other Asian instruments. I'm sorry that you have experience with YC that sounded like a harpsichord. I cannot tolerate an overly bright instrument.
