I used to think every investor went broke during recessions, meanwhile some make millions. I also thought everybody went out of business during the Great Depression, but some went into business. Bottom line, there's always depression for some, and profit for others, it all starts from having the right mindset. That said, I've set asides $50k to invest for future, unfortunately l'm a complete newbie.

True, A lot of folks downplay the role of professionals until being burnt by their own emotions. Grant is not speaking to people that don’t have money. He’s speaking to people that already are wealthy and doesn’t realize it. Because $1 million is a tremendous amount of money for someone that doesn’t have any money. If everybody in the United States was a millionaire What would it be like? at the least they could pay their bills. And that is a big part of being happy making sure that your bills are paid.

Million dollars has been a thing since the early 1900s, when a million dollars actually was a lot of money. People have just hung onto the nice "round number" of a million and being how most people are terrible with money, many still won't reach it. Now days, the "millionaire" needs at least $10+ million, arguably $20+ million. For example, in 1923 when millionaires were a big deal, it takes $18M to have the same purchasing power as they had back then with $1M.
