Teen Lantern is about as stupid as Jane Foster calling herself Thor when Thor is a name not a title.

Well Odin-son disowned the name Thor when he was unworthy. Reason being the name Thor is synonymous with the hammer Mjolnir and the power of the God of Thunder. He was not fit for either so he took no claim of his name. The identity of Thor is based on being able wield his hammer, which is why most of those who wielded it in the past transformed, they became Thor.
