i think what's so interesting abt stayc's discography is that ever since since "beautiful monster", they've gone for a more brighter, cuter, & almost childish sorta image... when u look at the three comebacks before teddy bear, stayc seemed to mature & refine their sound/image. but when beautiful monster didn't perform as well, it looked like their plans had changed.

and the thing is that beautiful monster shouldn’t have been such a decisive release in their career trajectory, simply because it fits their narrative and soundscape that they had been building up until that point. i’m still confused as to why that song didn’t perform well. it’s not their strongest, sure, but still great for what it is

I wonder if they always planned to go back to a brighter sound, or if the reception Beautiful Monster got was the thing that motivated them to start marketing in Asia first- The Teddy Bear/Poppy/Bubble pipeline looks a little odd in terms of musical evolution, but ended up seriously strengthening their core fanbase in Korea

Beautiful Monster is way better then their newest beyond childish songs. They are adults now and it is so cringe they make music only kindergarden people listen to. Even then I bet most kindergarden children wants to rather listen to Cardi B then newest StayC songs. Their drop in musical quality after Beautiful Monster is insane. How did we go from So Bad and Stereotype to Teddy Bear?

That’s so exciting to me. I love their whole discography but I loved their earlier slightly more mature sound including beautiful monster. It was a shame to lose that after beautiful monster was so under appreciated.

@@ZDubbed yeahh. It is a shame.. BeauMon was sooo good. Though Teddy Bear and Bubble was good too. They were hits and was able to solidify their fandom a bit more. I do wish we get to see smth like BeauMon, RUN2U or even Stereotype for their upcoming CB

i find it interesting how stayc's title tracks are bubbly but the bsides are almost sombre and like a reality check of the harsher realities of life. its consistent throughout staydom, stereotype youngluv with songs like love fool, i'll be there slow down, youngluv, love, beautiful monster. the bsides are more personal like a diary and only for those who truly want to get to know them and those who stay.

even stayc's 'cute' songs like bubble and teddy bear has strong meanings like knowing being different and wrong is not the same, chasing your dreams even though you fear judgement and don't want worry about messing up because its everyone 1rst life and were all trying our best. they stay true to thier teenfresh/star to a young culture theme very well. even LIT their japanese single has themes of living your life and getting the most out of it. they are good at conveying deeper messages in a light hearted way.

OMG, I'm so happy for a StayC video, I personally am still not considering myself a true Swith, but especially since We Need Love, I'm as close to that, as one can be. They make such great music, it's unreal and I mean it, like people can make fun of me for religiously listening to Teddy Bear and Bubble, but both of them have always helped me through many hardships in my life and I'm incredibly grateful for that. My favourite StayC songs are however I'll Be There, Beautiful Monster and Young Luv in this order🥰. It's a bit unfortunate I couldn't see them live, since the only time they were in a city I could actually visit, I already had a ticket for Madison Beer's concert, so I couldn't go, but I hope I'll be able to see them live one day, because their music speaks to me as not much other does❤.

Ive been a fan ever since asap and seeing them get sm fame from young luv fills me w joy 🤧 all the songs off of the album are amazing it was my 2nd favorite album from 2022(aka i rr recomend it🤭) As for their new cb i hope its a full album ik they can do amazing and maybe have the girls write a lil som 👀

[ long comment ahead] while i agree wholeheartedly abt young luv ( the song), i would argue that their song love fool is a very close contender for title of magnum opus. it's the perfect bside to a cutesy song like ASAP, and directly demonstrates stayc's versatility as artists. in terms of lyrics, it expresses that same earnestness and hesitance of a first love, and how it makes you a little bit of a fool. in that respect, young luv has a wiser and more experienced narrator. love fool itself is such an emotional core of their discography and is just as much of a representative of their concept as a song like bubble, for example. my little personal theory is that stayc has a 'love' trilogy that goes as: love fool > young luv > love in album order it might not have been intentional, but imo it definitely depicts the growth of the narrator's view on love. starting from the naive earnestness of love fool ( ' I still don't know much about love /Am I missing it? Ooh/ Is love supposed to hurt like this? /Is it naturally like this? ' ) to the slightly more experienced and painfully honest young luv ( ' You act likе you'll give me evеrything with just words/ I'm not swayed by it (I'm strong) / You approach me clumsily and pretend to be in love/ I won't be fooled again, you know I'm so bad ') to the heartbreak of a first breakup of an emotionally deeper relationship and feeling like love is smth that is not meant for the narrator in love ( ' Yeah, it's a hard thing, it's like it's not for me /It's too dificult, I feel like I'm not myself/ Only sweet things are for me/ Feel the pain for me, boy, I don't wanna say goodbye' ) so yeah !

i really just listen to their music and feel things that i didn’t know i had in me. stayc’s music to me represents growth. young luv is an explanatory song through which stayc tries to clarify why they make the music that they do.

young luv era was STAYC's peak era in every way possible it did extremely well in k-charts, the album sales were good, the styling was on point representing their musicality, the concept was amazing and most importantly the album was chef's kiss the songs were very cohesive as well as k-swiths, i-swith even gp loved run2u!!
