Men are lonelier than ever before, largely due to recent societal shifts like technology enabling constant work and erosion of traditional male communities; I explain why this epidemic of male loneliness exists and offer solutions men can implement, like scheduling tech-free time, joining group activities, and reframing your identity from "lonely person" to "disconnected person who can take steps to reconnect".

The internet allows women to select the top guys and avoid all others and dating is being done online more than ever
@raygorf735

He's lying to you all. 1) vast majority of couples in this world are looks matched. I accept money can be a big dating trigger to women but that doesn't change observable reality and that is the world is full of looks matched couples. Average looking couples. 2) So called gigachad is an extremely rare phenotype (face type). It's a genetic outlier. Guys of gigachad looks (let's say 9) are no different to extremely short or extremely tall men - rare in the population. Real Men used the term ' gigachad' not chad. Chad is arguably 8 and not that common but so called gigachad is even less common so it's ridiculous to say all women want gigachad. Do you see lots of women dating gigachads? No. Of course not. It's childish to say "all women want gigachad." C'mon it's bullsh*t. It's not real life.

Yes agree. Society and politicians have given women too much power. Not saying they shouldn't be given equal rights but it's extreme favouritism not just equality they're getting. Men don't have the same government funded support programs available to them as women do. They have female gyms but then they use unisex gyms & complain they are being sexually threatened by men gawking at them all the while baiting the men with cameras to post footage on social media for their Only Fans.

My wife's uncle just got arrested two days ago over allegations from his ex wife (total biznitch) that he touched her niece. From what I understand, she claims it happened over last December, during the holidays, but he was with us and my wife's side of the families for like a whole week. Now I don't know the whole story, but I wouldn't be surprised if his name will be FOREVER tarnished. What I do know is his new wife doesn't believe it, nor does anyone in our families

Women don't want us anymore, that's the big issue. Things spiritually have changed. Nobody knows who they are anyone, or what roles we're here to perform. I have come to the conclusion that women don't like us, and resent having to need men financially in the past. Where this leaves us, good question. We've just got to make the best of the cards dealt us.

The truth is, you're not owed anything and now society is at a point where you don't just get everything because you showed up. You have to earn it. If you want someone to want to spend time with you then you need to be worth spending time with. I'm single and not the best looking and don't have a great job and if I'm to be honest I'm kind of boring most of the time, especially in groups. I'm learning to socialize more, improve my career and working out and I'm starting to make friends. It's not everyone else, its always you. If you have a negative mindset where it's everyone elses fault people can subconsciously pick up on it and will be repelled.

Its not rejection that men are afraid of. It's that a lot of western women have been indoctrinated into an intense dislike, lack of respect, and jealousy of men. I was recently in college (after retirement from the army) in a female dominated program and it was really disappointing to see. For me it started the moment in the first class we had where we all had to introduce ourselves and tell a bit about what we did before. I literally had women saying "who does that short guy think he is"🤣. Excuse me for putting my life on the line for our country and serving two tours in the middle east. Even being polite and saying hello or opening the door for them, which I do for everyone btw, can get these women passing rumors about you and "poisoning the well". Near the end of the program some literally told me they thought they deserved medals for being healthcare students during the coof🙄 I don't associate with anyone but exmilitary now.
@EJ_Red
@EJ_Red 5 ай бұрын
Yeah these are the types that ruin the dating pool for society as a whole as they push men away which in turn cause women who happen to be good to be without said men, and we can't even say anything out of fear of being misogynistic (Yes, this has happened before). But I do agree with that last statement to a certain degree, healthcare professionals (Not students) do deserve some recognition and respect akin to a medal, I remember the story of a healthcare official trying to keep a girl conscious after she fell and broke both arms after a fall. He didn't explicitly say if she died but he did say that she got quieter and quieter before she stopped talking. Another story I remember is someone having to refuse to let a father see his child's body after committing suicide, so he went to the basement and took out his childhoose baseball mitt to cradle as he whimpered, "Daddy's here now" as if he held his actual son in his hands. Not saying that they are on the same level as actual servicemen but they deserve a whole lot of respect.

Sure, but there is a difference between having friends and social experiences and choosing to be more solitude and never having those things and being forced to be in solitude. Most young guys need friends and social interaction. I am very much one who enjoys solitude, but I also am older now and had a rich social life when I was young. I know myself now, but did not back then. I also still have a set of best friends I can count on and still spend time with them and talk.

Perhaps we men are lonely because the kind of decent, good, morally upright women that we all seek are so few out there that the chances of us being lonely are so overwhelmingly high. By contrast, if you just want some floozie then there are lots of those about, as long as you lower your wants and settle for less than you are worth and want. What is the solution? Who knows.

That is a great observation. I would like to add: people who purse moral excellence share certain passions and values. And often, they step out to be part of a community. This can create opportunities for friendships and romance as a young man. There are both young men and women who are crushed in a mindset of defeat and depression from abuse, childhood lonliness, and feeling they failed. They maybe even accept these and think they deserve a horrible lot in life. They are ignored by others, and definitely not seen as a dating option. However, if they pursue healing and purpose and let it change their soul - they can experience victory in life. And as their lives move in a new direction - former outcasts can become the most kind, high character, and captivating people to date. I would definitely recommend the book Wild at Heart, changed my life.

I end up feeling I missed the boat in high school/college. a good childhood friend gave me a love note in middle school. At that age I was in no way ready for that kind of thing so I turned her down. we remained friends though. in high school, she found someone else. I got along well with him too, and we are all 3 still friends. But I never really found anyone and I feel I was too emotionally immature to realize when a girl *were* interested in me. Early college I went on a small date with a girl I met in class, but i was always so timid that no followup ever came of it. frankly Id never known what i was supposed to *do* in hindsight its easy, just hang out until things get deeper. but I was already thinking "should I ask her to be my girlfriend? is that weird? that cant be how it is" and from there, nothing else ever happened. Now i'm 32, I am very much an introvert who would rather intimate gatherings than "going out", and my beliefs and tastes skew maybe a bit too old fashioned for my own good. and id like a girl that while not 100% the same, is a similar breed of "normal" person, yet out in the public world, those are rare, and when they do exist, there's current societal norms and job rules. Most jobs discourage intermingling in the workplace, and approaching a woman you dont know unless it's in extremely specific circumstances like a bar or club, is seen as creepy and weird. neo feminism has done a lot of damage to male/female courtship. Which isnt even getting to the notion of go-getter female businesswomen, who dont have time for no man, because they are pursuing a career. (and that itself opens up more subsequent cans of worms, as most men feel uncomfortable dating a woman of higher career/economic status than him, and frankly, most women feel the same in reverse. toss in the internet, phones, endless tv and entertainment at home, and there's never any reason for anyone who *isn't* an extrovert to go out and party, and there's even less for them to do if they try. sure there's always a way. But that first step- meeting someone that matches your preferences even halfway, as well as your personality, is incredibly difficult. Especially if you live in a modern big liberal city. Forget it then. the only women who seem to be out and about are the ones with pink sidecuts, go-getters, or the vapid kind.

Males lie about their relationship/marital status. There are plenty of married males who will straight up tell you they're single. So the "top 10% of men" theory is a myth. But y'll blame women for this for some odd reason. Of course, there are obviously women who lie about this as well. However, males are always "single." It doesn't mean they don't got a girl though. They're just mentally single. Also the status is based on those who partook in it. It's not a representation of the whole population. So if they polled 70 males & 30 females, how would you then come to a massive conclusion? I mean it's not a fair ratio, large enough sample nor do you know if those polled are being honest.

Men were told by women we aren’t wanted, and we are now listening. EDIT: with a little more time, I'm going to expand on the points made here: 1. Men's clubs and male spaces were great. They are now effectively extinct. Go ahead, try to make an organization that is a private club of some kind for men, only. Watch how the DEI activists show up to demand you open to women. Sounds fine, but once a woman enters a male space, the dynamics change. 2. I constantly hear people say men need to be more willing to express emotions. In practice, I've never seen that yield positive results. Hell, I'm nervous about a personal situation and my own mother disregarded my anxiety about an unknown situation. People claim this is a thing, but I've learned that those folks actually just want you to show specific emotions and specific times that they want from you. 3. The dating market is now winner take all, and there's no solution to it. Women have replaced men with the welfare state and their own careers. Good or bad? I don't care which, it's still accurate. As a result, to be desirable to women you either need to be extremely rich to the point where her other options are inferior, or so physically attractive she doesn't care about your income (both means you can be less of an extreme on either, but still need to be far above average). Most men will never be millionaires, and you can't make yourself taller. 4. Emotions are largely a biological form of feedback. Taking action is good, but just telling yourself "I'm not lonely, I'm disconnected" won't work if the evidence is to the contrary. Look at how many of these comments are men defending their isolation. Most men will go "I'm lonely BECAUSE I'm disconnected." Lift weights, join a club or two if you can, and realize the trend of women chasing after more elite men to a greater extent will never change.

Of the points you mentioned we’re largely in agreement. Women make their own money, and are given/handed opportunities which allows them to choose men based on want and not need. Most men were never wanted it turns out. I think primarily the main problem now is how important looks are. If we’re never going to go back to a time in which women are with men based on need then it boils down to women’s choice. Women seem to want taller men, with very attractive faces, bedroom parts, hairline, etc. Men are afraid of rejection and don’t approach because we see and hear what women want; and we know most of us don’t fit the description. When half of men are essentially excluded from the dating women for things outside of their control. Oftentimes when men do finally date a woman, the woman treats them on average somewhat poorly and certainly treated the hot guy she had as a 2 year FWB/situationship much better. There’s really no solving the issue in my opinion. Women are only selecting guys based on wealth to use as a retirement plan and looks to actually have lustful romantic engagements with. Many guys think they are the latter due to the former and it couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s honestly just unpleasant for me to say this, but essentially a hot guy actually gets her water park running, while just being wealthy will have to sliding on a dry slide so to speak. If men have ever seen a hot guy and the extremely caring and positive treatment he receives from women, they’d probably take everything women have done to them into frame and realize they are not just getting a bad deal; they are getting abused by women. Hot guys and the way they are treated shows you who women really want. Women quite frankly after a certain age from 28 or perhaps 34, start to say they “matured” and they want to settle down. That’s happening less and less because women are fine with being a hot guys situationship even into their 30s now. I’ll also point out that many of these women didn’t mature, they just want someone to split half the mortgage with and they can’t get their hot guy fwb/situationship to do it. So this particular group of women just settles down with a dude for financial stability/assistance; however, this usually ends poorly today because she is in all likelihood cheating on her paypig/partner.

I always laugh at how accurate a comedian's joke was (I forget who it was): "Adult men don't have friends, they have wives - their wives have friends - and those friends have husbands". I think it to be VERY true that older men (I am approaching 50) have a hard time making friends. I am lucky to have a wife that is my best friend and has been since we were 12 years old - that doesn't come around every day. But it would be nice to have other guy friends who do enjoy the activities and subjects where my wife and I don't align as much. But between jobs, kids, houses, and general life requirements, it seems we all have about an hour a month where our "free time" matches up to get together. That does not build a lasting relationship.

This is a phenomenon with deep social, psychological, economic, and political consequences. That men are not taking women on dates alone deprives the economy from a lot of revenue. Hence, why cinemas, restaurants, malls, theme parks are bankrupt and declining since the past decade. These were places where men used to take women on their first dates, coinciding with the drop in dating, relationships, and sex. Condom manufacturers can also provide the statistics. Not many people are buying condoms any more.

I woke up this morning and realized how lonely I am. I am not kidding and I wrote about it in my journal. The context is that I am going back to University next week and I am moving to another apartment. However, I need to find a roommate. I can't do that because the handful of people I do know already have a spot secured and I went to bed thinking about who I could ask and my mind went blank. I only really talk to about 4 people and they all have a spot already secured. I went to bed with that thought and I woke up realizing just how alone I am in university and how I don't have many friends. Most days I just come home to get on the PlayStation and watch KZbin. I get the grades, but I don't really go out and meet people and this has hindered me in the long run. Something feels incomplete. It is nice to see a video about loneliness and I feel better equipped to make a meaningful change this year, so thank you!
