Dirk might not be a great defender but he can hold his own. His offense is godly though.

@@TheIcemanthomas Not even close, Dirk thrived no matter who his teammates were, Stat was mid without Nash.

Keep doing the fantastic work! Man! Young Dirk was such a pleasure to watch, his scoring versatility was even better than Durant and Larry Bird. It will never a another Dirk, he is perfection, like Jordan, the unique treasure for all the basketball fans !

He changed the way the 4 is played. The first stretch 4 to lead a team to a ring.

I first became a Mavs fan when my Jazz were getting schooled by a young Mavs squad....this forward of theirs was putting up 40 a game, who the hell is Dirk Noviski? Within a few years the entire league knew who he was, I was impressed he could score from anywhere on the court, post, wing, perimeter, he had to be guarde, him, Nash and Finely were prime time basketball.

i dont think anyone else in the nba has tried that dirk shot where he drives lefts then takes contact and shoots of his right leg

Always love the Mavs since Michael Finley was playing with them. So nice to see my team winning a ring. Hard to watch them now, being a very busy Father/Husband. Oh well

I'm wondering if Dirk would be playing center if he was in his prime playing today, I feel like the stretch 4 is slowly becoming extinct, it's all hybrid forwards with one center in the frontcourt nowadays.

Only regularly played against prime Tim Duncan (greatest PF of all time), Kevin Garnett (regarded as one of the best defenders of all time) as well as Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace amonst the stacked PF position and in a ridiculously strong Western Conference at the time.
