I was a huge Sampras fan and this kid just comes out and hits impossibly gorgeous shot after gorgeous shot and takes down Sampras when I didn't think anyone could beat Sampras at WImbledon. A couple of observations. 1) How strange to see Federer playing in front of empty stands, and on outer courts in some cases. 2) He's got some of the best hands in the history of the game, along w/ McEnroe. A lot of these great shots, even the "lucky" stabs, work because he has the hands to control the racquet face at the moment of impact. Practice hones that, but there's a level of natural athletic ability which most of us just don't possess, even other top players.

He raised the bar so much higher than it had ever been. Not just compared to the others playing at the time, but objectively a higher level of tennis than had ever been seen. It forced the likes of Djokovic and Nadal to be so good in order to not only compete, but surpass. Federer forever changed the game.

Insane thing is that even now (2020) he seems to pull out this next level stuff in almost every match he plays. Amazing! Smashing! Great 👍🏻

Was Federer using a babolat racquet and keeping the Wilson logo at some stage? Very interesting 🤔
@vanshagarwal23624 жыл бұрын
No the babolat logo on his strings were for his gut strings . Back when he was solely using gut he had the babolat logo. Now with his hybrid stringing it’s marketed under champion choice by lux/Wilson hence he has their logo now.

Es increíble ver lo joven, pero lo más increíble es ver lo caballero que siempre fue jugando al tennis.

Did she just call Roger Federer arrogant. That’s embarrassing for her part. He’s the most most relaxed and athletic guy out there, he’s nothing close to negatively arrogant.

He used to have quite a temper, then after his coach died he became much calmer to sort of respect his coaches memory

Federer has gone on the record that he was a hot head when he was younger

He mean that Fed have some confidence in his play. You have to have some confidence in your tennis to pull a shot like that at a young age.

His confidence has always been interpreted as arrogance. Rafa and Djokovic fans always use that argument of him being arrogant to disrespect him.
