about the dubs: the original swedish cast did their own english dubs! which makes it sound a lot more authentic than a lot of other dubs netflix shows usually have (a lot of scandinavian netflix shows have done this too)

Deffo worth reacting to the entire thing!! Whilst the show isn’t entirely free of the classic teenage drama tropes, I think it does a good job at not being cliché and showing the genre through a different lens.

I like original swedish language better but fun fact - actor's of Wilhelm and Simon actually dubbed English version. Oh and it's first ever role for Omar (Simon), he never played or even have something in common with acting 😁

I am so surprised this is his first role! But he must have had acting-lessons? He was so good, but I guess the director should have some cred here as well since the type of directions they give the actors matters a lot.

I binged this series in one night and was hoping someone would react to it!! It’s brilliant. I watched the subbed version. I think you should make the switch, the queen sounds so much angrier dubbed.

@@CoreysCouch88 also, keep in mind that alot of things get lost in translation, in this case dubbed. Some lines literally changes meaning. For example the non-dubbed when Felice is talking to the girl from new york says something like: you can speak swedish with me. And she replies Ik but I don’t wanna sound stupid. That literally changes and doesn’t make sense in the dubbed one lol

I always prefer the original language. Started to learn Swedish lol. I am fluent in English, know a lil bit German, so not that hard to learn the basics of Swedish/Svenska :))

Finally someone reacting to it! I’ve been telling Adam to way before it got released. Was on vacation when it released and watched quite a few episodes on that day. Last night I watched the finale. If they DON’T show a Season 2 man oh man! I love Simon and Wilhelm so much! August’s a good villain type this story.

It’s interesting: I was exactly the opposite. When I first saw the show I tried watching the first episode dubbed and couldn’t understand half of what they said. After that I started watching the subtitled version, and everything was much clearer. You also can’t tell this way, but one of the characters is supposed to be an American exchange student, and all of her lines are spoken in English in the original version.

Fun fact: the actors who play Wille and Simon did their own English dubs too. I think some of the others might have as well, not sure if they all did.

Not speaking for all English speaking people but I do watch a lot of foreign ( meaning not from the US ) series and movies all of which I watch in their original language and read the English at the bottom of the screen. I have no problems with it. Love from the 🇺🇸 USA

when i watched it, i switched back and forth from english dubs to swedish original several times each episode. I'm very ADHD so i like to do stuff while watching things so when i was focused on it, i switched to swedish but when i was focused on something else, i put on english lol

In Sweden you have to be 21 to buy alcohol in the shop. My friend who grew up in Sweden used to go to like homeless people to get the alcohol for her, but it’d be like a gamble whether or not they’d come back with alcohol, and she told me it’s quite common. It was quite weird to me, because where I lived, the drinking age really wasn’t enforced…

I kind of like that even if it is dubbed they kept Swedish pronunciation for the names. Even though it seems to confuse some non Swedish speakers and people start pronouncing simon more as simone.

I think Alcohol in Sweden is not illegal just hard to get they don't sell it in Supermarkets. I heard Alcohol is government handled they sell it in specific shops so its almost impossible for teenagers to get their hands on it

I'm the exact opposite with movies and shows that are dubbed. I can't stand the way the mouths don't match! It oddly make me uncomfortable and I've never figured out why! Only a little though. I watched with the original audio so it's strange hearing the dubbed voices.

I've watched so many reactions of this show, but I really struggle watching the ones with the dubbed versions. I'm sorry not hearing the actual language is weird to me. No hate towards you just I find it painful but I understand some people struggle with subtitles.
