The Shire’s are the prettiest of all the draft breeds! That stallion was mad because they had all those ribbons on him! lol he was embarrassed!😂

@@apollotheshire understand. i’m betting the extrovert probably won lol 😂 he was most developed & very prancy/showy. they were all beautiful though! i really LOVE all horses. all animals honestly. i usually take in the most pathetic cases, the sick, homeless, not as pretty … i figure no one will help them so i better make sure they are okay ❤️❤️❤️😊

When they are hand showing (walking beside) do they all use the same bit (like a snaffle ) or do they use different ones based on the temperament of the horse ?

No, like I mention in the video, they don’t dock tails in England. They are shaved or braided or trimmed.

I'm genuinely curious: is trimming the tail down past the end of the boney tailbone piece considered* more beautiful in shows? I haven't seen that commonly, but I know Shire and other draft breed shows tend to have the tail bobbed or cut down very short at times. :) Edit: *fixed typo

It’s probably to better show off the hindquarters- that’s why they hog PREs’ manes.

It’s functional, like I mentioned in the video. They have a good reason. But then it also becomes a personal taste thing. I’m so used to it, I enjoy both. Tail or no tail. A decorated tail is actually really fun. And it can be cut, shaved or in a braid. I actually love how muscular the horses back end looks with a tidy tail. Makes them look/feel really powerful. But my shire has a long tail. I’ll never cut it. 🙂 Thanks for watching
