Motion in limine are used to prevent/limit certain evidence from coming in for various legal reasons such as relevancy, hearsay, unreliability, redundancy, and time wasting, to name a few. The motion is almost always filed BEFORE the jury is seated, unless new evidence is presented. In this case, the evidence ( witness that the defense wants to exclude due to conflictof interest) was known to the defense in 2022. They sat on their hands about the issue and did nothing. Now in 2024, they file the motiin which further delays the proceedings. It is unprofessional.
