30 year old Yam farmer Anthony Harvey aka Mug is a young man, that will inspire the World, he lives in South Trelawny a Parish that many persons term as the Yam Capital Of Jamaica. Mug explained that he grew up seeing his mother father and everyone in the family and around him farming Yam and so he took it up from the age of 13, he dropped out of school just as he began the 8th grade and from then all he knows is farming yam. Inspite of his lack of Education he didn't turn to violence or anything negative, but instead he took up the family tradition of farming yam and today he is 30 years old and is farming yam on almost 3acres of land.
He loves farming yam, but he also farm other crops such as Irish potatoes and carrots. If you wish to Support Anthony Harvey aka Mug in any way, you can contact him at the following number⬇

Tubes I concur with you very much in commending Shannen. Not only is she informing us, her viewers and providing tremendous inspiration to the younger generation, but as you so rightly said, highlighting these hardworking people. Indeed, they are making a huge contribution to Jamaica. And so is Shanzez. My late father was a die-hearted farmer like them and I regret not being around him much to learn the craft but I do have a deep passion to tilll the soil and I yearn to get back to the rural and my roots, so I believe I will do in the not too distant future. And with inspirations like these, you can imagine how I am iching to get going. Nuff love and blessings, my people.

Bless up peeps I see the good yam role out dung a Yaard deh I live in Toronto Canada and most of the time wi nah get the good dry quality haffu yam weh wi fi get. The yam most of the time is young or bitter and it is one of the most expensive product from the Island, even though our products overseas are always expensive compare to the other nations produce. Wi cannot even put away our yam for a a few days if you left it out or even put it in the fridge it become black or dry out. So peeps send we the good quality haffu like weh wi see here now. Bless up all the farmers and mi soon forward dung deh come join the farming . Iziz ShenZeng...

Mug,I am totally impressed with your true love of farming. My hat off to you and your associates. I would like to visit your farm and others when I am in Jamaica some time in 2021. My passion is to attend the yam festival there in Trelawney but I am not too sure of the date. Anyway I prayed God blessings on all the farmers in Jamaica on a whole.my dad was born in Trelawney a place called Alphs close to Sawyers.😎💖🇯🇲✍

Big up Jamaican farmers! A nation that provides food/feeds itself cannot be held hostage by any others. Farming is the oldest profession.. In 1972 I heard a mother bemoaned the fact that the government wanted her son who wanted to be a doctor was being told to learn how to plant cash crop through 4H club Interestingly, in 1993 a doctor wanted export/ import certification because he wanted to plant and export Jamaican hot peppers. I wish more young people would plant food even for their own consumption..
