my best roulette strategy is to reload the save until I get what I want.... in dragon quest but honestly IRL roulette the best I got(and it is a terrible strat) is to make your bets around all the spots the ball has landed at least once, and that is only a very slight effect on your chance to win because of wheel bias, not enough to tip things in your favour. The casino will reset the wheel WAY before you will be able to determine what the wheel bias is.

In Dragon Quest (or VIII specifically) the roulette is broken anyway, because a bet on a group of six numbers (out of 27 plus a zero) actually has a player edge. If I remember correctly it pays 4 to 1 where the actual odds against winning are 3.7 to 1. You can use this to literally guarantee that you won't have to reset the game.

Roulette is a perfectly fair game; as such there's only a handful of valid strategies: 1. Play whatever has any house bonuses on it. If your place has a, like, 'if you lose X on a OO we'll give you a free whatever', play for that 2. Play whatever numbers are trending. The game is perfectly fair so this shouldn't affect things, but if there's a fault in the wheel that makes certain numbers always/never show up, play for that. 3. Don't play on numbers other people are playing on. This is just for mood, but the more numbers that at least someone has, the more likely the table as a whole will win which makes for a happier playing time.

For the superstition part, there is no loss on the presumption the spin is rigged if it is perfectly random. If it is not perfectly random then there is only benefit in using datapoints in 'hot' numbers, clusters etc for a higher estimate bet. Using data informed bets either breaks even or gives advantage.

yep love it the only to make money long run on any game is to have the bet itself be +ev. this is doable on poker for sure, doable sometimes on blackjack, and almost never on any other game. note that there are strats in roulette that are worse than others. for example placing the same bet on both red and black is worse than just betting on black. there is no way to be +ev in roulette under normal circumstances, but there are strategies that are dominated
