My cramps are horrendous when I’m not eating wfpb. I’m vegan but I have to eat wfpb at least 90% of the time or my body tries to kill me off when my period comes around. I don’t think my doctor took me seriously when I had one really bad episode. I was told to just take Motrin leading up to my period.

My cramps are horrendous too! I feel ya! I switched to WFPB vegan after I heard Dr. Barnard say that the arachidonic acid in animal foods is a strong cause. It's taken 4 months, but my cramps were SO much better this time. I don't take pain meds, so I am really able to gauge that this approach works. I just had to be patient. 🙂🌱

L F yay! So glad you experienced pain reduction! I think cramps are joked about a lot and people don’t understand just how bad they can get. I found that including more ginger in my diet helps a lot too. It cuts my pain in half. I found that tip through Dr.Greger. You should give it a try. When my diet is clean and I’m having ginger almost daily. Pain reliever is optional when my period rolls around

@petervaichus69784 жыл бұрын
@Marie - I wrote that knowing you are vegan Marie and I know it’s a mindset that is hard to overcome. One of my daughters was vegan for five years and suffered chronic digestive and skin issues for years. When she finally did choose to do a trial of eggs and tuna in her diet it resolved those issues in short measure and gave her strength to work out a lot more. I believe it’s fine to eat a plant based diet the majority of the time, even 90%, however some animal based food is essential for most people to achieve full health and wellness. Jesus the Messiah ate fish and some of his apostles were fishermen. God did give certain animals as food for mankind for a reason as he created us to have abundant life. Please keep that in mind as you continue your sojourn upon this earth as it may indeed be something you’ll want (or need) to look into more closely in the future. May the Lord bless you.

Do you have this information in Spanish? My mother has lupus and has treated it for 15 years. Can it improve with a WFPB diet?
@joantendler65184 жыл бұрын
Does your mother take Plaquinil, a form of the chloroquine that might be a treatment for COVID-19, for her lupus? My son has taken it for 4 months for lupus, and it has improved his symptoms in a major way. I looked up how Plaquinil works, and it puts you into the state of ketosis, or fat burning! So, a ketogenic diet that avoids all vegetable oil, which can't be burned for energy, might be a great idea for her lupus. My son's diet is close to a ketogenic diet, so that is probably a big part of his success.
