Why do doctors not have this information. I could have used it 10 years ago, it would have prevented a lot of distress. All doctors who treat women should know this and provide information and guidance at the appropriate stages of the peri menopause and menopause.

Yes, all doctors should know this. Even if they didn't learn it in Medical School, there's been good information about menopause out for a few years now. If they're not picking up on it, that's on them, but it's the women who suffer as a result 😊xx

The health care system is beholden to big pharma, which results in treating symptoms, not causes, with drugs, making lifetime patients. That’s why real doctors like Gersh practice outside the system. The system is broken, or, I should say it’s only good for critical care situations, like a broken arm, accidents, etc.

True, and most doctors have neither the time nor the inclination to think outside of the box. Research and creative solutions-not their m.o. That is why it is incumbent upon each one of us to take back our power. It’s your body. Do your research. And if you cannot co create a satisfactory HRT treatment plan with your doctor, find another way, which may include going it alone, until you find a supportive smart doctor like this one. And yes, there are plenty of options to find what you need until you find the right health care partner.

Dr. Felice, please, address what is a "physiological dose". Also, so many have asked the relevant question of do you continue estradiol every day and then pulse for two weeks the (real) progesterone? I've read through so many comments with these two questions being asked again and again. Thank you for your time and excellent presentations of this most important information to help women help themselves.

Yes. I’m a new patient of hers and the PA (who I just had the initial tele-health consult with) is having me do this very thing. I am post meno as well as post hysto, too.

You mention progesterone as being brain protective. But I recently had a hysterectomy & my Dr said not to take it anymore. So I only take my estrodial gel. Will my brain be damaged without progesterone ? My breast surgeon said I’ll have less chance of breast cancer on Estrodial alone so not sure what to do now ? Many thanks !

Medroxyprogesterone (synthetic) isn't great, but micronized progesterone is bioidentical and beneficial. I learned this from Dr. Gersh, and other menopause experts, then looked up the studies myself. After a year on the synthetic stuff (and feeling worse than before I started the meds) I switched to micronized progesterone and estradiol patch. I finally feel like my old self again! My insurance covers both and my out of pocket is around $40/month, but if you're un/under-insured, Good Rx has coupons that lower the cost to less than $50

So is microglia gone wild in the brain something similar to the out of control osteoclasts in the bone? Breaking things down without oestradiol and progesterone to regulate them? 😱xx
