So often, when driving, you can tell that a particular driver must be using a phone because their driving is odd and generally poor. The worst thing is to see it in your rear-view mirror. You are then aware that you could be hit from behind when you brake. These people are a menace.

I love it when drivers bang on about the HWC when they're frothing over people on bikes, but clearly either haven't read it or choose to ignore themselves. HWC 149 explicitly states that you must not use your mobile or similar device when driving, including when stationary.

it's mostly a facade, the vehicles are on finance, the owners are usually in a financial mess. As a builder i come across it a lot, living above their means yet don't have any money to pay my reasonable bill for work undertaken. I had an R80 ,went all over france on it

It was about 2km from the first sighting till the end it is the road that runs from Shepherds Bush to Marble Arch along the south of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, I think this bit was Nottinghill High Street and Bayswater Road.

Do you not have helmet laws there? Fell off one day going around a corner and someone deliberately put oil down. Both wheels slipped and I hit my head on the road. I got up and kept riding. Later I looked at my helmet and it was cracked clear through. I've been told that if it cracked my helmet, that would have been my skull. Thing probably saved my life.

I find it more shocking that 75% of all homicides in the UK are committed by motorists driving dangerously compared to 0% by cyclists. You are three times more likely to be unlawfully killed by a dangerous driver than by any other means, but you won't be killed by an unlawful cyclist.

Interesting tidbit. Unlike drivers who are leaned back in their seat with the knees high with a steering wheel they can push their hands against, cyclist are leaning forward with their centre of gravity closer and higher above the handlebars, so it is less easy for them to braking. Braking hard means somersaulting over the bike, or with the bike if they are clipped in, so don't make silly comments about cyclists running amber lights.
