Thats the point all avoidants are thinking, that why they are avoidant because they struggle with their own selfworth, there is nothing you can do its not your job to treat your partner like a child and try to give him selflove and selfworth, its his job to work on it and fix hisself if you are worth for him. I went through the same situation so believe me let it go until he wants to work on hisself.

@ Yeah he’s 19. We met at college and we were best friends. He had a huge crush but I didn’t know it and he finally got the nerve to ask me out for Valentine’s Day last year and then we started dating and he was so happy when I finally agreed to be his girlfriend. But then the avoidant stuff happened and I didn’t know what was going on. He invited me to visit him last summer (his parents bought me the plane ticket) and he seemed scared and “avoidanty.” When I got home I sent him kind of a harsh text saying I needed a break for my mental health. I thought he would apologize and take accountability but he shut down. Figured out he was an avoidant after. I’m moving on and talking to someone else now and have a date with him this week. We broke up in the beginning of September and I’ve been healing & working through it. It’s just sad because I lost my bf and best friend. If I realized he was avoidant beforehand things may have been different. He caused me to become anxiously attached, which had never happened to me before.

Wish I could schedule a chat with you... I got a avoidant situation, that happened right after Christmas. Some days, I'm so drowned in my thoughts. Other times I can mostly get through the day without reminding myself she living rent free in my head. It's tough, specially when she told me it didn't matter what we went through, that we would ok.
