I think this is the only watercolour channel where a tutorial is actually a tutorial. One is being taught and not waffled at with unimportant details.

This is a great idea. I always seem to miss the live stuff. I like how you add little snippets of composition and techniques rolled together and I especially liked what you said about THIS painting is not the only one. You can do it again. Sometimes that is a difficult concept to get past. Thanks again Liron! Great hat too in the silent face insert.

I am a fan of live demos but can’t seem to schedule time to participate in them as they are happening. For me, this “synopsis” format is absolutely perfect. Excellent tips on creating that much needed quality first wash. Thanks! Going to paint this today. Out of my comfort zone-I typically paint animals. This will be a good challenge for me. Thanks Liron!

I like it when you just show the painting process with a voice over. I like livestreams but this format is great for focused learning! How can we paint shingles on a building? A large wash, then darken glaze, then details?

I liked this format, found it very informative. Live streams are fun, too, but I often can't make them. Turning the reference photo upside down was a real eye-opener. Made the contrasts "pop".

I think you were born with a paintbrush in your hand. I am knocking on a bit, but enjoy taking in all that you teach. You are so natural and say "I should have" and show that even professional painters don't get it right first time, which makes us feel better. Thank you. I do like the live stream but you can't please everyone and being encouraging, saying hello to everyone, does take the edge off it, but still well worthwhile. You really are an amazing inspiration.

I hope you're having a wonderful vacation! Your livestreams are great, but I like this format, too. During the livestream, you explain what you're thinking as we go along, and in the recap, you explain even more and mention what you would do differently. And your reminders not to stress over it are really helpful to me. Thanks! p.s. your pallet cracks me up - I don't know how you tell one color from another 😉

I have “fear of the dark”. But, seeing you do it with abandon, makes me realize it’s importance (You can’t have light without the dark) and that I just don’t need to fear anything when painting. Not much is lost, and much is gained from making errors. You learn for the next time. Plus, it’s really humbling to have a picture come out differently than in your mind’s eye or your inspirational piece. By that I mean, it keeps you trying to realize the idealized picture in your mind. That idea of turning the picture upside down and starting with the dark, is a gem of an idea. Practice, practice, practice. The act of painting helps you release any anxiety or depression you may be feeling. Not doing it may create anxiety. Thank you for your help. I also liked your video on establishing a palette. As a result of your video, I have gone out to buy all the Windsor Newton paints that I can find locally. Luckily this week, they are having a 40% off sale at Hobby Lobby. Will watch your video again, So I can complete the selections with your list. Thank you.

I really enjoyed your video. I am sufficiently beginner that I very much appreciate how you executed and described the initial wash. I would not have thought of your color choice for the sky but it works so well. And turning the painting upside down for the weight of the colors was downright magical when placed right side up. Thank you. I will enjoy watching more.

Great video, I also have truble with values and greens. This was very useful. I liked the shorter, edited version. I never seem to catch the live stream. I find the salutations to viewers and a bit distracting...and it is a lot of work for you, as you have to paint and trawl through the comments. One quick suggestion would be for viewers to proceed their questions with the word QUESTION in capital letters, to help you find them. Lindsay the Frugal crafter does this, with good results. I woulda definitely watch the shorter versions, and you can even skip the filming of yourself, so attention focuses on the painting (and makes repurposing/editing easier). I offer these comments as constructive suggestions - I have a lot of respect for your skills and teaching abilities. Just one more viewer's perspective. Enjoy your well deserved vacation!
