Well, all I want to said, it's on your comment area. I want to thank you for teaching us like this. The most important thing I learn from you, is to losing the fear of dark tones, and also about letting go of trying to copy exactly what you see (it's not bad to do so) because the Artist is recognized by his originality! I have learned through these video tutorials that you can add the colors you want, in such a way that it is in perfect harmony. I have to confess that it gave me goosebumps to see all those dark colors in the beginning of the layers 😂, and then everything was like magic! I love your videos and what you teach. Thank you very much for making these videos! Greetings from Puerto Rico 🥰🇵🇷

Liron: This is so helpful!! Who knew how many little subtleties and layers go into the step-by-step process of painting? I think your commentary while you are working [do this; don't worry about that right now; we'll come back to this area...], it is all really helpful to see. I have the problem of not trusting the layering process. Anyway, thanks for your willingness to share your knowledge.

I learn a lot from videos like this. Thanks so much for this lesson. I'm still trying to paint like this. I love this style of painting, it has a lot of natural flow that goes well with watercolors. But when I go to paint like this myself, I get lost in small details too soon into the process. It's a habit I'm trying to break. I want to see it as overall shapes and values but I fixate on the small details as I work and I lose the big picture.
@LironYan
@LironYan 2 жыл бұрын
Haha yes I get it, and it used to happen to me a lot. You've probably seen this one, but it's one of the best examples I filmed on how to avoid that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2apq5yfq96ho9U Always have the "next biggest shape" in mind (: Completely disregard the details inside it (including highlights), and focus on the shape itself. Later you can start introducing wet-in-wet and lifting to improve this process. And one last not - don't obsess on the big shape's edges! The more important factor is how the shape is read as a whole. The edges play a minor part in that. Keep up the great work! 😊

From now on I'll always add my thick watercolor/gouache from the cap. I was always pouring a little bit on my mixing palette, but once I am done it always dries down and it's intended purpose becomes redundant. Thanks for that tip. Awesome technique as always 👌 PS - when you said you would add the Indian yellow to the sand I gasped in excitement 🙈

I'm a newbie to painting and trying to understand your process. It seems a mix of glazing and a la prima. A glazed underpainting of cool and warm excluding highlights. Then a la prima by establishing mid tone and lighter darks first matching whether cool or warm according to the underpainting. Then details of lightest light and darkest darks. Using muted primaries in the initial washes then small detailing with saturated primaries. Am I on the right track?
@LironYan
@LironYan 2 жыл бұрын
Yes - Great description of this particular process! 😁💪 However - it varies greatly depending on the subject matter AND my mood / things I want to experiment with (: Which is why I recommend experimenting with a multitude of approaches and processes to develop flexibility 🎨

LIron, Nice to see a good drawing from you, youv improved alot from several years ago. DO YOU NOW SELL YOUR WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS? ill keep an eye on you and your improvements, And your videos are special, two. Theres so many really great painters out there, i couldent name them all. Each has there own style and technique! Have you developed the Liron Yanconsky technique yet? Thats where if you had one of your paintings hanging up with several artitis, and some one came along and said hay! Liron did that one?
