My hair is so thick but the magic I use before taking it down is to marinate the hair with lots of deep conditioner a day before taking it down and by then it's dry but also very very conditioned and very easy and slippery. Works like magic for me

@@carinaiboaya4868 I use organic best hair mayonnaise but I add coconut oil and flaxseed gel and mix it in little mayonnaise and apply to my hair few hours before bed. My hair was not as thick as it is now and I guess it's because of the coconut oil, the flaxseed gel works as a repair to the hair and little conditioner to keep it from drying out totally. That's what I use for my own hair.

There's no way I will ever take that long to detangle my hair. I soak it in conditioner and oil the night before and it almost detangles itself as I glide my fingers through. I also only go two weeks at most between washes and I don't cornrow my hair. I do medium individual braids. I get less matting at the roots. To each her own though. I'm glad this works for you.

I think the best thing to do is to oversaturate your hair with oils and leave it for 24hours in a plastic cap and a bonnet. At the end of the 24hours, your hair would have absorbed the oils and Al build up would have emulsified.

It looks like you’re transitioning and that’s why it’s harder for you to detangler your hair. Oil and conditioner should be included in your routine not just a spray bottle of water. Maybe mix the oil water and the conditioner together, when you’re detangling. You may find that easier.

@ujuofidealstyle - aloe gel can be incorporated with warm water & a drizzle of conditioning oil that your loves. Saturate just enough when your hair is no longer thirsty, do not soak. I prefer doing a continuous spritzing bottle. Also work in sections.
