I started off the chain of Your Lie in April videos with this song as it is my favourite OST of the entire soundtrack. There's just something about it, I honestly can't get enough of this song and it gets me every time. 5 minutes of pure bliss. I hope the attention to detail (dynamics and performance-wise) is conveyed to you guys, the listeners! Please support the full album release on Spotify ( spoti.fi/2WPxKq0 ) and on other streaming platforms (links in description) for future projects like this. This was purely a passion project and despite not being April or a currently trending anime series, I wanted to do this kind of thing ever since I watched the anime when I first got into seasonal anime in 2015. All of the songs featured are my personal favourites as well as songs I love to play regardless if I'm making a video or not (due to copyright reasons). This project has many significant meanings for me and I hope you'll listen to the full piano album. Also, many of you requested the first medley to be on Spotify but it wasn't financially feasible for me to put it up so this was an alternative solution to that, taking care of multiple issues in one swoop.

@@justinlim592 If we only compare story, Alchemist, Stein's gate can be close. If we think about drawings, ufotable&tokyo anime has really good drawings. For music, anime like guilty crown, sword art online can be compared. Clannad is also touching anime. But none of them can be close to YLIA. This is my best anime because this inspired me so much that I decided to learn piano. It's just my opinion, but I'm pretty sure some people will think the same with me.

I just want to share my story of how I was inspired. The first time I wantched Your Lie in April was March 28,2016. I finished the whole thing in a single day. The next day I talked to my mom and asked her if I could enroll at the School of Music. She said yes. And how ironic it was that my classes started at April 1, 2016. It was a ckmplete coincidence. After 6months, a competition was held at our school. I joined just for the heck of experience.. And to my surprise. I won. I cried that day on stage while I was playing the piano. How every single key on the tips of my fingers felt so light and natural. I just wanted to inspire others of the music I create and gave all that I had. On stage I felt free. Like I held the world with the tips of my fingers. This anime affected my whole life. It literally did. Because of this anime and music.. My life changed. I met the man I'd marry in the future because of music. I was a pianist. He was a violinist. We were compatible and both played at the same tempo. We were both thankfull for how we met. Now, we'll be performing on stage this year. A duet. Liebesleid composed and arranged by Kreisler, Arima Kousei's lullaby.

I have to admit I did cry during this... But I cried tears of happiness because during this I put aside my sad thoughts and thought of all the moments kaori reminded us to be well.. happy. She touched my heart no matter what and I'm really happy because of that. Kaori didn't live as long as us but her happiness was infinite. And when she was helping Kousei it was like a ray of sunshine trying to brighten up your day. When she cried I felt as if I was showered with sadness. When she laughed I felt like a ride of waves washing over me to make me cool down. Just one look of her smile , and your day would brighten up completely I really can't imagine my life without watching this, so for that. I won't give up piano either and focus on happiness instead of sadness. Thank you your lie in April for making my life as happy as it could be.

And that warm feeling of letting it all loose, it felt amazing. I never cry, but there is no feeling like how I felt when I did. All of the memories, important things I was told, the nostalgia, who I am today compared to 10 years ago. I never thought watching this anime to the end would unlock that special feeling in me.

Kaori's Final Letter: Dear Arima Kousei, It feels weird writing a letter to someone you were just with… You’re the worst. Indecisive. Gullible. Twit. The first time I ever saw you perform, I was 5 years old. It was at a recital for the piano school I was going to. This awkward, clumsy kid came onto the stage and accidentally hit the piano stool with his butt. It was too funny. He turned to the piano that was way too big for him and the moment he played that first note, I was drawn in. The sound was beautiful, like a 24-colour palette. The melodies danced. The girl next to me started crying. I wasn’t expecting that at all. And even so, you gave up the piano. Even though it totally changed other people’s lives. You’re the worst. Indecisive. Gullible. Twit. (Cut to Kaori as a kid, telling her parents she’s giving up piano for violin because she wants Kousei to play again.) When I found out we were in the same middle school, I was ecstatic. But how would I ever come to talk to you? Maybe I’d hang out at the lunch concession. Instead, I just watched you from afar. I mean. After all. You all seemed to get along so well. There wasn’t really any space in there for someone like me. When I was a kid, I had to have an operation and I started having to be at the hospital for regular check-ups. In the first year of middle school, I collapsed and I was admitted over and over. With every visit, I was there for longer and longer. Really, I didn’t get to class much in middle school, I spent more time at the hospital. And I knew something was wrong with my body. One night, I saw my parents crying in the waiting room and I knew that my time was running out. That’s when I ran away. I didn’t want to bring my regrets with me to heaven, so I stopped holding back from what the things I always wanted to do. I wasn’t scared anymore to get contact lenses. I ate what I wanted instead of always worrying about my weight. And I took the music with all its high and mighty directives and played it the way I wanted. And then I told a lie. Just one. I lied and said that I, Miyazono Kaori, liked Watari Ryouta. And that lie brought you to me. Please apologize to Watari for me… though I’m sure he’s forgotten me by now I think I need someone more wholehearted and earnest than him. I think we’d be fine as friends though. And please apologize to Tsubaki for me too. I want for there to be no hard feelings. And there was one thing I could never ask of her, to ask her directly to introduce the two of us. I don’t think she would’ve had an answer for me. After all, she was in love with you. We all knew that. I think the only people who didn’t know were you and her. That underhanded lie brought me to you didn’t work out the way I had imagined. It was darker. And meaner. And denser. And more stubborn. And more perverted. And softer. And more masculine. And sweet. Remember that bridge we jumped off? The water was so cool and refreshing. Racing each other alongside the train. I really thought I could win. The moon we saw from the music room that night, like a delicious-looking bun. Singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with you as we rode on that bike together. Then falling out time. We’re awful singers. At the school at night. I’m still sure there was something there. The falling snow, just like cherry blossoms. It’s strange to be a musician, but then to have your heart so filled by something that comes from off-stage They’re unforgettable scenes to me. But they’re such little things. It’s weird, isn’t it? What do you think? Do you think I made it into anyone’s heart like that? I wonder if I made it into yours. I wonder if you’ll still remember me. If you forget me, I’ll just come back and.. No, I don’t want to start over. Please don’t forget me. Promise me you won’t forget me. I’m glad it was you. I hope this reaches you, Arima Kousei. I love you. I love you. I love you. I’m sorry we couldn’t eat all those canelés. I’m sorry I hit you so much. I’m sorry I was so selfish. I’m so, so, so, so sorry. Thank you for everything. Your Lie in April ~fin~

It hit me in a way I was not expecting, because I had actually dropped off playing piano due to a lot of recent deaths close to my heart. It was like it was written for me. Anyway, I've picked piano back up now, and I'm finally learning stuff like Yiruma that I've always wanted to play. It's very colorful music. I might even try to learn this piece if I have time, since it's not dissimilar. Hope you have a great day!

Is anyone else just so passionate in music? They just love the piano so much where when you play it’s like you hold the world on your light and free fingertips that feel like feathers :’)

Weird how I never paid attention to this song...yet I feel it's so close to my heart. It makes me just want to break into tears and cry about all my troubles and worries so that maybe I'll feel better when I stop.

I’m 13, I had no intentions of playing any instruments, we considered those music makers (Lame) bUt..when I watched This beautiful anime, I started crying really loud, I felt that as if I lost someone important..and I wanted to calm that feeling, so I asked for a piano, then as soon as I got it, I played, and I shed a lot of tears playing the songs but, It wasn’t sad tears, they were happy 😊 and now I thank that show, for being my reality, for helping me choose a way forward😌 you really are something kaori😭🤗

i’m 13, i’ve been playing the piano for about 3 years and at first i didn’t like it. i finished watching the anime and it really opened my heart up. my notes went from being so dull to actually having a meaning behind every note i played.

@@aidan-zc4kp omg me too. i used to be putting up with my piano lessons, but after stumbling upon this beautiful anime, it changed my stance towards the piano and music itself. Miracles truly are everywhere.

I could keep my cool all the series, until that part when she had a seizure, and we see her hand grasping the rail of the bed, and then slowly, she let it go... That... Break me, and then I cry for all that didn't in the whole series.

Great arrangement! Your Lie in April has endured as my favourite anime, it has a lot of feels for sure but one thing that shouldn't be overlooked is the content it has for musicians or anyone with a love for the piano. I love it! :)
